Synopsis
The daughters of Sesshomaru and Inuyasha embark on a journey through time! After being separated from her half-demon twin sister Setsuna during a forest fire, Towa wanders into a mysterious tunnel that sends her through time to present-day Japan, where she is found by Kagome Higurashi’s brother, Sota, who takes her in and raises her as part of his family. The sisters are reunited 10 years later when the tunnel connecting the two eras reopens, but Towa is shocked to discover that her sister, who is now a demon slayer working for Kohaku, has lost all memory of her. Now, the sisters, together with Moroha, the daughter of Inuyasha and Kagome who also has no memory of her past, must travel through time on an adventure to regain their missing past!
Background
Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon is a sequel to the hugely popular Inuyasha anime series. The series was first announced in May 2020 and is produced by Sunrise with Teruo Sato directing and Inuyasha creator Rumiko Takahashi providing the character designs. Staff from Inuyasha have also returned including Katsuyuki Sumisawa who is writing the script, Yoshihito Hishinuma who is handling the animation character designs, and Kaoru Wada who is composing the music. The anime premiered in Japan on Oct. 3 on YTV and NTV. It is being streamed in North America through Crunchyroll, Funimation, and Hulu.

Towa Higurashi (Voiced by: Sara Matsumoto (Japanese); Erica Mendez (English))
Towa is the 14-year-old daughter of Sesshomaru and Setsuna’s twin sister who winds up in modern-day Japan after wandering into a strange tunnel while looking for her twin sister Setsuna after being separated by a forest fire. She has been in the modern age for 10 years and was taken in and raised by Kagome Higurashi’s brother, Sota.
Setsuna (Voiced by: Mikako Komatsu (Japanese); Kira Buckland (English))
Setsuna is the 14-year-old daughter of Sesshomaru and Towa’s twin sister who became a demon slayer working for Kohaku after being separated from her sister 10 years ago during a forest fire. She goes to the modern age with Moroha to reunite with Towa but has lost all memory of her sister and her childhood.
Moroha (Voiced by: Azusa Tadokoro (Japanese); Morgan Berry (English))
Moroha is the 14-year-old daughter of Inuyasha and Kagome and is a bounty hunter known as "Moroha the Monster Killer” who slays demons and sells their parts. She has a cheerful personality. Due to living alone since she was a child, she knows very little about her parents.
Hisui (Voiced by: Takehiro Urao, Larissa Tago Takeda (baby))
Hisui is Miroku and Sango's youngest child and their only son. He works as a demon slayer and inherited Hiraikotsu from his mother.
Takechiyo (Voiced by: Ai Fairouz)
Takechiyo is a young tanuki.
Mei Higurashi (Voiced by: Haruka Terui)
Mei is Sota’s daughter. She has a kind and gentle personality and is a bit of a crybaby.
Moe Higurashi (Voiced by: Eriko Matsui)
Known as Moe Moe Mama, Moe is Sota’s wife and Mei’s mother. She is caring and loves Towa as her own daughter.
