Synopsis

Kapibarasan is a laid-back capybara who likes to take life at his own pace. Together with his many animal friends, he enjoys his daily life and fun adventures out among the Midorino Grasslands.

Background

Anime Kapibarasan is an anime based on Bandai Spirits' capybara character, Kapibarasan, which has inspired a long-running line that includes merchandise, manga adaptations, and spin-off characters. The anime is being created to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Bandai Spirits. It is being directed by Tomohiro Tsukimi who is also credited as the sound director with music by Akiyuki Tateyama and animation production by Shin-Ei Animation and L'esprit. It will premiere in Japan on Oct. 9 during the kids’ show Kin Daa Terebi on TV Tokyo, TV Osaka, TV Aichi, TV Setouchi, TV Hokkaido, and TVQ Broadcasting Kyushu.

Characters

Kapibarasan
A lazy capybara who goes at his own pace. He likes grass and hot springs.

White-san
A rare white capybara.

Kokapi
Kapibarasan’s friends whom he treats as his younger brothers. They like to imitate Kapibarasan.

Kokapiani
The older brother of Kokapi, he admires Kapibarasan.

Namakemono-kun
Namakemono-kun moves very slowly, but that doesn’t mean he’s lazy.

Regent-kun
Regent-kun is a self-proclaimed delinquent capybara.

Llama-san
Llama-san behaves as he wants to but is generally good.

Atsui-san
A passionate capybara overflowing with chivalry. He has a good heart.

Beige-san
A gentlemanly capybara who has returned from the city. He has really good fur.

Kapijii
Kapijii is an old capybara who is a walking encyclopedia.

Prairie-san
Prairie dog twins.
