Synopsis

Join ancient Egyptian gods including the mummy-obsessed Anubis, the walking encyclopedia Thoth, the strange and unpredictable Medjed, the music and dancing-loving Bastet and others as they relax and enjoy the afterlife.

Background

Tototsu ni Egypt Shin is an anime based on characters created by artist yuka. It is being directed by Katsuya Kikuchi with series composition by Yuichiro Higashide, character designs by Rena Okuyama who is also credited as the chief animation director, and music by Keiji Inai. The anime will premiere in Japan in December 2020 on U-NEXT, d Anime Store, Abema TV, FOD, Bandai Channel, GyaO!, and YouTube.

Characters

Anubis (Voiced by: Hiro Shimono)
The god of judgment, Anubis’ job is to guide and judge the souls that come to the underworld. His hobby is making mummies.

Thoth (Voiced by: Yuuki Kaji)
The god of wisdom, Thoth is bood friends with Anubis and loves eggs. Since he knows so much, everyone relies on him for guidance. He seems to have a secret that he is keeping.

Medjed (Voiced by: Hikaru Midorikawa)
Medjed’s existence is wrapped in mystery. His behavior is strange and unpredictable.

Bastet (Voiced by: Yu Kobayashi)
A goddess in the form of a cat, Bastet takes things at her own pace just like a cat. She loves music and dancing.

Set (Voiced by: Hiroyuki Yoshino)
The god of destruction, Set doesn’t get along with Horus. He often does bad things and harasses others.

Horus (Voiced by: Nobunaga Shimazaki)
A powerful god with a falcon head, Horus is a hard worker who works a part-time job. He doesn’t get along with Set and the two often fight.

Ra (Voiced by: Kenjiro Tsuda)
Sun god Ra is the father of everyone. He likes to go on cruises and buy everyone souvenirs.

Apep (Voiced by: Koji Yusa)
Apep is the incarnation of evil, darkness, and chaos. He lives in the sea and is enemies with Ra.

Khnum (Voiced by: Daisuke Namikawa)
A god in the form of a sheep, Khnum is passionate about pottery and is often called a master by Anubis and the others.

Sa-ta (Voiced by: Yukari Tamura)
A god in the form of a snake, Sa-ta is an idol with tons of fans. His concerts are always a resounding success.

Wenet (Voiced by: Shouta Aoi)
A god in the form of a rabbit, Wenet likes to sleep.

Otter
A god in the form of an otter, Otter serves the other gods. He appears out of nowhere and often helps the others.

Sobek
A god in the form of a crocodile, Sobek is powerful and feared by everyone.
