Synopsis

The daughters of Sesshomaru and Inuyasha embark on a journey through time! After being separated from her half-demon twin sister Setsuna during a forest fire, Towa wanders into a mysterious tunnel that sends her through time to present-day Japan, where she is found by Kagome Higurashi’s brother, Sota, who takes her in and raises her as part of his family. The sisters are reunited 10 years later when the tunnel connecting the two eras reopens, but Towa is shocked to discover that her sister, who is now a demon slayer working for Kohaku, has lost all memory of her. Now, the sisters, together with Moroha, the daughter of Inuyasha and Kagome who also has no memory of her past, must travel through time on an adventure to regain their missing past!

Background

Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon - The Second Act is the second season of the Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon which itself is a sequel to the globally popular manga series Inuyasha by Rumiko Takahashi. The series is once again being produced by Sunrise and features Masakazu Hishida as director with Katsuyuki Sumisawa handling series composition, Rumiko Takahashi handling character designs along with Yoshihito Hishinuma, and Kaoru Wada composing the music. NEWS will sing the anime’s opening theme song, while the group Little Glee Monster will sing the ending theme song. The anime will premiere in Japan on Oct. 2, 2021 on Yomiuri TV and NTV. It has been licensed by Viz Media and will be streamed through Crunchyroll, Funimation, and Hulu in North America.

Towa Higurashi (Voiced by: Sara Matsumoto (Japanese); Erica Mendez (English))
Towa is the 14-year-old daughter of Sesshomaru and Setsuna’s twin sister who winds up in modern-day Japan after wandering into a strange tunnel while looking for her twin sister Setsuna after being separated by a forest fire. She has been in the modern age for 10 years and was taken in and raised by Kagome Higurashi’s brother, Sota.

Setsuna (Voiced by: Mikako Komatsu (Japanese); Kira Buckland (English))
Setsuna is the 14-year-old daughter of Sesshomaru and Towa’s twin sister who became a yokai slayer working for Kohaku after being separated from her sister 10 years ago during a forest fire. She goes to the modern age with Moroha to reunite with Towa but has lost all memory of her sister and her childhood.

Moroha (Voiced by: Azusa Tadokoro (Japanese); Morgan Berry (English))
Moroha is the 14-year-old daughter of Inuyasha and Kagome and is a bounty hunter known as "Moroha the Monster Killer” who slays demons and sells their parts. She has a cheerful personality. Due to living alone since she was a child, she knows very little about her parents.

Kohaku (Voiced by: Ryohei Kimura (Japanese); Alan Lee (English))
Hisui’s uncle and the head of the yokai slayers. He was once close to Sesshomaru when he was a child. He welcomed Setsuna to the yokai slayers.

Hisui (Voiced by: Takehiro Urao, Larissa Tago Takeda (baby))
Hisui is Miroku and Sango's youngest child and their only son. He works as a demon slayer and inherited Hiraikotsu from his mother.

Kirara (Voiced by: Tarako Isono)
A nekomata who is attached to Kohaku and the others. It is usually the size of a kitten, but it can change in size to that of a human by blowing fire. It can also fly.

Takechiyo (Voiced by: Ai Fairouz (Japanese); Ryan Bartley (English))
A young tanuki who works at the Shikabaneya. In his giant flying form, his hat takes the shape of a turtle’s shell and he carries everyone with him.

Mei Higurashi (Voiced by: Haruka Terui (Japanese); Xanthe Huynh (English))
Mei is Sota’s daughter. She has a kind and gentle personality and is a bit of a crybaby.

Moe Higurashi (Voiced by: Eriko Matsui (Japanese); Erika Harlacher (English))
Known as Moe Moe Mama, Moe is Sota’s wife and Mei’s mother. She is caring and loves Towa as her own daughter.

Rion (Voiced by: Saki Fujita)
Kirinmaru’s daughter. She was sealed inside the world of Mount Musubi 600 years ago. Her fate changes drastically when she meets Yashahime.
