Hatsune Miku and Dollfie
Summary
Dollfie is a brand name for a series of synthetic resin-based ball-joint dolls manufactured and sold by the Volks Corporation. The first ball-joint doll sold under this brand was officially released in November 1998. The name “Dollfie” was created through the combination of the words “doll” and “figure”, as the product drew inspiration from both of these items. The product comes in a variety of sizes, ranging from 26 centimeters to 65 centimeters tall.
The company also produces numerous accessories for their products, such as wigs, eyes, and clothing. In addition, the company has formed collaborations with various companies and brands, including Hatsune Miku and the Vocaloid franchise. Some of the notable franchises that Dollfie has collaborated with include Sailor Moon (Sailor Mercury and Sailor Mars), Re:Zero (Rem, Ram), and the Fate/Grand Order franchise (Master -female-, Mash Kyrielight).
Hatsune Miku and Dollfie
The Hatsune Miku X Dollfie Dream collaboration led to the release of numerous ball-joint doll versions of Vocaloid characters, including variations of Miku, such as Snow Miku and Sakura Miku. Each doll has been carefully designed to create a unique rendition of the characters. The company has also released several Vocaloid-themed accessories, such as the Hatsune Miku wig and the Hatsune Miku ball-joint doll carry bag.
Price
Dollfies are ceramic dolls and are therefore on sale for at least 60,000 yen. Fortunately, the price includes a variety of extras and not just the doll itself.
In a typical set, you will find: the doll, wig, 2 hair ornaments, clothing such like blouses/shirts/skirts, arm covers, arm installment joint parts, hand and arm parts, various decals, skin protection tape, and finally all of this comes in a special carry-case to allow buyers the ease of portability when transporting their Dollfie.
DD Hatsune Miku
Sculpted by Masaki Serika (みさきせりか), the original Hatsune Miku Dolfie Dream was available for pre-order for three months in 2013. It featured original metallic Hatsune Miku eyes and an original-style Miku wig. Its head was classed as "Hatsune Miku original head" and used the DD Base Body III and SS bust. The figurine was designated as semi-white in color and retailed for 62,000 yen.
DD Snow Miku
This Dolfie was available for pre-order in early 2017. It used original metallic Snow Miku eyes, Snow Miku wig, and the same body parts as the DD Hatsune Miku. Retailing for 65,000 yen, she was also designated as semi-white.
DD Kagamine Len and DD Kagamine Rin
Rin and Len used original Kagamine Rin/Kagamine Len metallic pupils. Len consisted of the DDS Base Body and Boy Type bust while Rin used the SS bust type. Their skin color was "flesh" and they were originally available for pre-order in 2018 at 64,814 yen.
DD Hatsune Miku Reboot
DD Hatsune Miku Reboot featured an original dress designed by Vocaloid artist iXima. She was packaged with the DD Base Body (DD-f³) and SS bust parts. She was available for pre-order at Magical Mirai 2019.
DD Sakura Miku
DD Sakura Miku also used the same body parts as the DD Hatsune Miku Reboot, as well as shared the same head part as the original Hatsune Miku and Snow Miku but with a pink-colored wig and Sakura Miku-themed metallic pupils. She was available for pre-order in April 2019, on the Dollfie website, or 66,800 yen. DD Sakura Miku is so far the only Hatsune Miku Dollfie to be designated the "flesh" color.
DD Megurine Luka
Available for pre-order at the special "Dolls Party 39" event in 2018, DD Megurine Luka was given the DD Base Body III and L Bust (Flat version) body parts. She retailed for 69,000 yen. A second pre-order option was allowed for those who could not attend the party but was offered towards the end of May and only for those who attended the "Dolls Party 39 After Event".
