Characters

Montmorency (Voiced by: Ryota Osaka)

Montmorency is a French nobleman. Studying at a school for knights, he was more interested in magic and alchemy than martial arts and achieved the lowest grades ever recorded since the academy’s foundation. Hunted all over France as a black magician, Montmorency flees with his winged fairy familiar Astaroth and runs into a mysterious girl called Jeanne at the village of Domrémy-la-Pucelle.

Jeanne d’Arc (Voiced by: Yoko Ono)

Jeanne d’Arc is a shepherdess living in the village of Domrémy-la-Pucelle. When the village is attacked by mercenaries and her younger sister is killed, Jeanne prays to the forest deities to end the fighting as soon as possible. Running into Montmorency while he is one the run, Jeanne decides to team up with him.

Astaroth (Voiced by: Hisako Tojo)

Astaroth is a rare species of winged fairy. She looks like a tiny human girl, and as her whole body can fit in the palm of your hand she’s small even among fairies. She has extensive knowledge of alchemy and is both partner and teacher to Montmorency.

Arthur de Richemont (Voiced by: Manami Numakura)

Arthur de Richemont is a princess of Brittany. She is a military genius with a strong sense of justice, but is also over earnest and rigid - the sort of person who makes enemies easily. She stayed in Brittany with her older brother who inherited the kingdom in order to protect its independence. After studying with Montmorency at the knights’ school, she participated in the Battle of Agincourt.

Charlotte (Voiced by: Saori Onishi)

Charlotte is the crown princess of France. She is haughty and looks down on others with an attitude befitting a princess. Hating her mother for her wild exploits with men, Charlotte developed a loathing for boys but like her mother has grown up to be a beautiful young woman who often finds herself the subject of male interest. She has been on bad terms with the over earnest Richemont since their days at the knights’ school.

Philip (Voiced by: Yuki Takada)

Philip is a young noblewoman from Burgundy in the east of France. In contrast to her cool-headed father, Philip is kind and enrolled in the knights’ school to atone for her father’s wrongdoing. Philip is also regarded as something of a weakling despite her virtue.

La Hire (Voiced by: Shizuka Ishigami)

La Hire is a female mercenary from Gascony. She goes by the name “La Hire” which means “rage” which is inspired by her fiery character. La Hire puts on an act of being a hyper masculine warrior chief, but her dream is to become a gentle wife. Because her men are starving she allows them to plunder villages but does not tolerate harm coming to little girls or fairies.

Batard (Voiced by: Yuki Kuwahara)

Batard is Charlotte’s cousin and companion and is actually a man who is only dressing as a woman to get close to Charlotte because he knows she hates men.

Alençon (Voiced by: Junji Majima)

Alençon is Richemont’s cousin and has deep respect for her. Aiming to become a knight fit to declare his love and loyalty to a noblewoman, he has scant respect for the likes of Montmorency and his dabbling with alchemy.

Xaintrailles (Voiced by: Hidenori Takahashi)

Xaintrailles is a member of La Hire’s Gascony mercenaries. He is obsessed with La Hire’s large breasts.
