Synopsis
In 2050, Derrida Yvain has become a famous young scientist after developing the “Autonomous Machine DZ” at his father’s company, Rebuild. However, together with his colleague Nathan, Derrida discovers a huge fault with his invention and attempts to inform his superiors, but they won’t listen to him. Angry but putting aside his fears, Derrida heads off to the birthday party for Nathan’s beloved daughter Mage. The next day Nathan and Derrida are attacked by mysterious aggressors. When Derrida wakes up, he discovers that 10 years have passed during which the world has been torn apart by war. Attacked by groups of out of control DZs, Derrida remembers Nathan’s last request to him to look after his daughter and resolves to find her at all costs…
Background
RErideD: Tokigoe no Derrida is an original anime project created by Steins;Gate director Takuya Sato and Serial Experiment Lain illustrator Yoshitoshi ABe. The project was first announced under the title Project D by Kadokawa at Anime Expo in July 2017 with the current title confirmed in March 2018. The first season will premiere in October 2018 on Tokyo MX and will be simulcast online by Crunchyroll. The series’ opening theme will performed by Quadrangle, while M.A.O and Himika Akaneya will perform the ending theme as their respective characters.

Derrida Yvain (Voiced by: Kensho Ono)
Derrida Yvain is an engineer working at Rebuild, a technology company founded by his father. He was responsible for the development of the Autonomous Machine DZ.
Mage Bilstein (Voiced by: M.A.O)
Fiercely intelligent and strong willed, Mage Bilstein is the daughter of Derrida’s best friend, Nathan. She has great respect for the research her father and Derrida were conducting.
Yuri Dietrich (Voiced by: Himika Akaneya)
Yuri Dietrich is the same age as Mage and the pair have been firm friends since childhood. Bright and cheerful, Yuri’s main hobby is photography.
Vidaux Völker (Voiced by: Hiroo Sasaki)
Vidaux Völker is a “Destruct” freelance contractor. He comes to Derrida’s rescue while he is being attacked by the Autonomous Machine DZs.
Mayuka (Voiced by: Kaede Hondo)
Mayuka is Vidaux Völker’s daughter and often works alongside her dad. Her hobby is reading.
Graham (Voiced by: Kazutomi Yamamoto)
Graham is the AI navigator installed on Vidaux Völker’s custom car. Generally speaking, it’s in charge of navigation and firearms, but can also take the wheel if the occasion calls.
Donna (Voiced by: Yu Kobayashi)
Donna is a “Destruct” freelance contractor. She is also an assassin and is pursuing Derrida on orders from Andrei.
Nathan Bilstein (Voiced by: Takahiro Sakurai)
Nathan Bilstein is Derrida’s best friend and a fellow engineer at Rebuild. He is raising his daughter Mage alone as a single father.
Jacques Yvain (Voiced by: Kenichiro Matsuda)
Jacques Yvain is Derrida’s father and the founder of Rebuild. He is the creator of the Autonomous Machine DZ.
Hans Andrei (Voiced by: Minoru Inaba)
Hans Andrei is Nathan and Derrida’s boss at Rebuild and hatches a plan to have them killed when they find out the secret behind the Autonomous Machine DZ.
