Synopsis
Ordinary schoolgirl Akari Amano is rescued by vampire Sophie Twilight while lost in the woods and takes a liking to her straight away. Barging into Sophie’s home, Akari manages to convince her to let her move in and begins living with Sophie. Although Sophie is a vampire, she doesn’t go around attacking people to drink their blood. She’s the modern kind of vampire who buys her blood in packets and spends the rest of her money on her otaku hobbies! Hilarious adventures ensue in this “help! I live with a vampire!” comedy.
Background
Ms. Vampire Who Lives in My Neighborhood is adapted from the four-panel comedy manga by Amatou which has been running in Comic Cune since August 2014. The TV anime adaptation was announced on the cover of the August 2018 issue of Monthly Comic Cune and is scheduled to premiere in October 2018.
Both the opening theme, "†Kyutie Ladies†,” and ending theme, "Happy!! Strange Friends,” will be performed by Miyu Tomita, Yu Sasahara, Lynn, and Azumi Waki as their respective characters.
Characters
Sophie Twilight (Voiced by: Miyu Tomita)
Sophie Twilight is a 360-year-old vampire who lives in a western-style building and enjoys a very modern, ordinary kind of life. She can’t bear to drink blood from humans, preferring to buy it and store it in her refrigerator. As she’s vulnerable in sunlight, Sophie tends to be more active at night and views the internet as a basic human need. Despite her refined appearance, she’s also an otaku who loves manga and anime.
Akari Amano (Voiced by: Yu Sasahara)
Akari Amano is a schoolgirl who was rescued by Sophie when she got lost in the woods. Taking a liking to her savior, Akari barged her way into Sophie’s home and more or less forced her to let her move in. Akari also loves dolls and was attracted to Sophie because of her doll-like appearance.
Hinata Natsuki (Voiced by: Lynn)
Hinata Natsuki is a cheerful girl who thinks of herself as Akari’s best friend. As such, she often becomes jealous witnessing how well Akari and Sophie get along.
Erie (Voiced by: Azumi Waki)
Erie is a fellow vampire and longtime friend of Sophie’s. She’s elegant yet also haughty. As she’s only just woken up, Erie is somewhat dazzled by modern life.
Sakuya Kurai (Voiced by: Rina Hidaka)
Sakuya Kurai is a classmate of Akari’s. She loves scary stories and is the leader of the occult group. Well, she calls herself the “leader,” but in truth she’s the only member.
Yu Aoki (Voiced by: Aya Uchida)
A classmate of Akari’s, Yu Aoki is a friend of Sakuya’s who belongs to the literature club but sometimes helps out with Sakuya’s occult group.
