Synopsis
The Hidden Dungeon is an unexplored and unreachable dungeon that holds untold rare treasures and is home to rare and dangerous creatures. One day, a boy named Noir stumbled upon an entrance to the dungeon and upon exploring encounters a girl named Olivia who happens to be a legendary adventurer who became trapped in the dungeon 200 years ago. Olivia bestows on Noir three powerful abilities that allow him to freely create, distribute, and modify skills in exchange for Life Points. But in order to accumulate LP he’ll have to have all kinds of different exciting and ecchi experiences!
Background
The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter is a fantasy light novel series written by Meguru Seto and illustrated by Note Takehana that began serialization on the user-generated novel publishing website Shosetsuka ni Naro in January 2017. Since then, it has been acquired by Kodansha and is being published under their Lanove Books imprint. The series has also spawned a manga adaptation written by Seto with illustrations by Tomoyuki Hino that began serialization on Kodansha’s Suiyobi no Sirius manga service in 2018. Both the light novel and manga have been licensed for English release by Seven Seas Entertainment.
A web radio show called Radio Dungeon Only I Can Listen to featuring Ryota Osaka as Noir, Miyu Tomita as Emma, and Rumi Okubo as Lola will be broadcast every Thursday beginning Jan. 14, 2021.
An anime adaptation was announced by Kondasha in May 2020. The anime is being produced by Okuruto Noboru and features Kenta Onishi as director and Toru Kitahata as creative producer with Kenta Ihara handling the script, Yuya Uetake handling the character designs, and Hara Kanako composing the music. The opening theme song is “Pyramid Daigyakuten” by Spira Spica, and the ending theme song is "Nemophila” by Coalamode. The anime premiered Jan. 8, 2021 on MBS, TBS, and BS-TBS and is available to stream overseas through Crunchyroll.
Characters
Noir (Voiced by: Ryota Osaka)
Noir is the third son of a low-ranking noble family who wants to become a hero. He is given the world’s most powerful skills (Create, Bestow, and Edit) by Olivia after encountering her in the HIdden Dungeon. He also possesses the “Great Sage” skill that allows him to acquire any knowledge but gives him a terrible headache when he uses it. He is serious and cautious but also simple-minded.
Emma (Voiced by: Miyu Tomita)
Emma is the daughter of a noble family and Noir’s childhood friend. She has a kind personality and treats everyone equally. She is good at close combat and is skilled with a dagger. She is popular with men due to her good looks and large chest. She has feelings for Noir but is frustrated that he doesn’t see her that way.
Lola (Voiced by: Rumi Okubo)
Lola is a beautiful receptionist at the adventurer’s guild Odin. She is Noir’s handler and gives him various quests, though she secretly hopes to become his wife. Despite her calm demeanor she can be quite competitive. She sees Emma as her rival for Noir’s affection.
Olivia (Voiced by: Yui Horie)
Olivia is a top-tier adventurer from 200 years ago who becomes trapped inside the Hidden Dungeon by a curse. She communicates with Noir through telekinesis and gives him powerful skills after meeting him. She has a cheerful and mischievous personality.
Luna (Voiced by: Akari Kito)
Luna is an elven saint and Lola’s best friend. She possesses healing skills and can nullify curses, and she sees it as her mission to heal and save people.
Alice (Voiced by: Yuki Nagano)
Alice is Noir’s younger sister. She is loyal to Noir and would do anything for him. In fact, she’s a serious brocon who often slips into Noir’s bed at night without permission and gets jealous of his relationships with other women.
