Synopsis

Things are as lively as ever in the bustling city of Yokohama, but this time the characters of the Armed Detective Agency and Port Mafia have gone chibi! Join them as they go on all kinds of adorable rampages in this gag spin-off variety show!

Background

Bungo Stray Dogs is a manga series written by Kafka Asagiri and illustrated by Sango Harukawa that has been serialized in Kadokawa’s Young Ace magazine since December 2012. The series has spawned several manga spin-offs to date including Bungo Stray Dogs Wan!, Bungo Stray Dogs: Dead Apple, and Bungo Stray Dogs: BEAST, as well as a light novel adaptation, a theatrical film adaptation of Bungo Stray Dogs: Dead Apple, and a smartphone game titled Bungo Stray Dogs: Mayoi Inu Kaikitan

The anime adaptation of Bungo Stray Dogs Wan! was announced by Kadokawa in June 2020. It is being produced by BONES and Nomad and features Toshihiro Kikuchi as director, Kazuyuki Fudeyasu handling series composition, Hiromi Daimi handling character designs, and Taku Iwasaki composing the music. The ending theme song is “Namae o Yobu yo” by Yuuto Uemura. The anime premiered on Jan. 12, 2021 on Tokyo MX and is available to stream online through Crunchyroll.

Characters

Atsushi Nakajima (Voiced by: Yuto Uemura)
A new employee of the Armed Detective Agency who was discovered by Osamu. He is timid but brave enough to stand up for what he wants to protect. His ability is “Beast Beneath the Moonlight,” which allows him to turn into a giant white tiger.

Osamu Dazai (Voiced by: Mamoru Miyano)
An employee of the Armed Detective Agency. He is a free spirit who is obsessed with suicide and wants to die at every opportunity. He used to be a leader in the Port Mafia. His ability is “No Longer Human,” which lets him nullify anyone’s abilities by touching them.

Doppo Kunikida (Voiced by: Yoshimasa Hosoya)
An employee of the Armed Detective Agency. He is a cutthroat but is always being pushed around by his partner, Osamu. His ability is “Lone Poet,” which allows him to bring to reality anything he writes about.

Ranpo Edogawa (Voiced by: Hiroshi Kamiya)
An employee of the Armed Detective Agency and the only one without an ability. He is a great detective with exceptional observational and deductive skills, which he has dubbed "Super Deduction.” He’s a bit childish in how he behaves and talks, and he only eats candy.

Kenji Miyazawa (Voiced by: Hiroyuki Kagura)
An employee of the Armed Detective Agency. He is cheerful and optimistic and is often either eating or sleeping. His ability is “Undefeated by the Rain,” which gives him superhuman strength when he’s hungry.

Junichiro Tanizaki (Voiced by: Toshiyuki Toyonaga)
An employee of the Armed Detective Agency and an assistant who handles various odds and ends. He uses his ability “Light Snow” to create illusions and confuse his enemies. He is surprisingly weak against his younger sister, Naomi.

Akiko Yosano (Voiced by: Yu Shimamura)
An employee of the Armed Detective Agency and an excellent medic. Her ability “Thou Shalt Not Die” lets her heal any wound.

Kyoka Izumi (Voiced by: Sumire Morohoshi)
The newest member of the Armed Detective Agency. Kyoka was raised as an assassin in the Port Mafia. Her ability is “Demon Snow” which allows her to control a ruthless sword-wielding phantom from her phone.

Naomi Tanizaki (Voiced by: Chiaki Omigawa)
A clerk at the Armed Detective Agency who is a serious brocon who enjoys extreme skinship with her brother, Junichiro.

Yukichi Fukuzawa (Voiced by: Rikiya Koyama)
The President of the Armed Detective Agency who has a dignified personality. He loves his employees so much that he gives priority to them even if it means abandoning his own work. He loves cats. His ability “All Men Are Created Equal” lets him control the abilities of his subordinates.

Ryunosuke Akutagawa (Voiced by: Kensho Ono)
A member of the Port Mafia. He hates Atsushi and is determined to settle a score with him one day. He respects his former boss, Osamu. His ability "Rashomon" calls forth a black beast capable of destroying anything, even space.

Chuya Nakahara (Voiced by: Kisho Taniyama)
An executive member of the Port Mafia whose trademark is his black hat. He used to be a duo with Osamu known as “Double Black.” His ability "For the Tainted Sorrow" allows him to manipulate the gravity vector and strength of anything he touches.

Motojiro Kajii (Voiced by: Wataru Hatano)
A member of the Port Mafia who is a mad scientist and bomb-maker who claims that death is the “ultimate science.” His ability “Lemonade” allows him to create lemon-shaped bombs that he is immune to.

Koyo Ozaki (Voiced by: Ami Koshimizu)
An executive member of the Port Mafia who is glamorous and dependable. She loves Kyoka like a sister. Her ability "Golden Demon” is similar to Kyoka’s and allows her to summon and control a sword-wielding spirit.

Elise (Voiced by: Sora Amamiya)
A beautiful girl who is doted on by Ougai and calls him “Rintaro.”

Ougai Mori (Voiced by: Mitsuru Miyamoto)
The head of the Port Mafia and a former doctor who takes care of Elise. He is brutal and always seeks the “best solution.” His ability “Vita Sexualis” allows him to manipulate Elise for his own benefit.

Ichiyo Higuchi (Voiced by: Asami Seto)
A member of the Port Mafia who is a subordinate of Akutagawa, whom she greatly admires.

Hirotsu Ryuro (Voiced by: Atsushi Ono)
A commander of the Black Lizard who has served the Port Mafia since the time of his predecessor. His ability “Falling Camellia” allows him to repel anything that he touches.

Michizo Tachihara (Voiced by: Yu Hayashi)
One of the 10 commanders of Black Lizard whose weapons of choice are his dual pistols. His ability “Midwinter Memento” allows him to manipulate metal.

Gin Akutagawa (Voiced by: Shiina Natsukawa)
One of the 10 commanders of Black Lizard who specializes in infiltration and assassination. She is Ryunosuke’s younger sister
