Synopsis
Riko is an ordinary girl who is one day transported to an alternate Japan where the world is ravaged by metallic lifeforms called Mimesis. The only ones who can fight against the Mimesis are girls equipped with armored weapons called LBX. Together with four other girls from her world, it’s up to the five of them to eradicate the Mimesis and save the world, especially if they ever want to return to their own world again!
Background
LBX Girls is a TV anime series based on the rebooted Soukou Musume Mizel Rem Crisis video game which takes place in the Danball Senki universe created by DMM Games. It is being produced by Studio A-CAT with cooperation from Level 5 and features Keitaro Motonaga as director, Yasuyuki Muto handling series composition, Kumi Horii handling character designs, Yasuhiro Moriki in charge of Mimesis designs, Kenji Ando and Koji Watanabe in charge of mechanical designs, and Tsuyoshi Sakabe handling the music. The opening theme song is "Dream Hopper" by Rikako Aida, and the ending theme song is "Compass Song" by Kano. The anime premiered on Jan. 6, 2021 on Tokyo MX and BS11 and is streaming in North America through Funimation.
Characters
Miharu (Voiced by: Ayaka Fukuhara)
Miharu is a tall and taciturn girl. She is the unit’s guardian and has a samurai-like air to her. On the other hand, she loves cute things and collects local goods. She is a Masquerade-J-type LBX.
Yui (Voiced by: Rie Murakawa)
Yui is a passionate and mischievous girl who took on work as a Soukou Musume immediately after transferring. She was saved by Kyoka, and the two have been working together ever since. She is an Odin-type LBX.
Riko (Voiced by: Rikako Aida)
Riko is an ordinary girl who is carefree but asserts herself when she needs to. She is an assassin LBX who never misses her mark, even when she’s using a target practice cork gun.
Suzuno (Voiced by: Saki Miyashita)
Suzuno is an unsociable operational strategist. In order to survive, she coexists and fights together with everyone in the unit but stubbornly refuses to become friends. However, she worries when others get into fights. She is a Lucifer-type LBX.
Kyoka (Voiced by: Saori Onishi)
Kyoka is the leader of the unit. She was originally part of a different unit but lost her friends and is now looking for an opportunity to get revenge. She is a Deqoo-type LBX.
