Synopsis

Reki is a second-year high school student who becomes obsessed with skateboarding and joins a top-secret, dangerous race called “S” that takes place in an abandoned mine. Together with a transfer student from Canada named Langa, he heads to the mountain where the race is supposedly held. The curtain rises on a coming-of-age story about race battles between skaters all unique in their own way, including AI skaters and those who play dirty to win!

Background

SK8 the Infinity is an original TV anime produced by BONES. It was first announced in September 2020 and features Hiroko Utsumi as director with Ichiro Okouchi handling series composition, Michinori Chiba handling character designs, Studio No Border creating the skateboard designs, Ryo Takahashi composing the music. The opening theme song is "Paradise" by Rude-α, while the ending theme song is "Infinity" by Yuri. The anime premiered on Jan. 10, 2021 during the “ANiMAZiNG!!!” programming block on ABC and TV Asahi. It will be available to stream in North America through Funimation.
