Synopsis
High school student Natsuo Fujii’s momo died when he was young, and now he lives with his dad. Natsuo aspires to become a writer and spends his free time writing. He is also hopelessly in love with his cheerful and popular high school English teacher Hina. Not able to act on his feelings, he tries to suppress them. In an effort to try and get over Hina, he has a one night stand and loses his virginity to a moody high school girl he meets one night at a mixer named Rui. However, the plan backfires and he ends up feeling even worse about his secret crush on Hina. To make matters worse, his dad announces that he is remarrying and that Rui and Hina are not only going to be his step-sisters but they’re also going to live with him! Natsuo’s outrageous love triangle starts now!
Background
Domestic Girlfriend started as a manga written and illustrated by Kei Sasuga. The manga began serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine in July 2014. As of November 2018, 20 tankobon volumes have been released by Kodansha and the manga has 3 million copies in print. The manga is also being published digitally in English by Kodansha USA and by Crunchyroll.
An anime adaptation of the series was announced in July 2018 and is being directed by Shota Ihata and written by Tatsuya Takahashi with character designs by Naomi Ide and animation production by Diomedea. The opening theme song is "Kawaki wo Ameku" by Minami, and the ending theme song is "Wagamama" by Arisa Takigawa. The anime will premiere in Japan in January 2019 as part of the Animeism programming block on MBS, TBS, and BS-TBS.

A high school student who aspires to become a novelist. He is madly in love with his English teacher, Hina Tachibana. He meets Rui Tachibana at a mixer and loses his virginity to her on a whim.

A second-year high school student, Rui is blunt and bad at socializing. She decides to lose her virginity to Natsuo after meeting him at a mixer in order to experience sex after becoming doubtful that she would ever find love.

Natsuo’s English teacher, Hina is a stylish girl with a cheerful and easygoing attitude. She is highly popular among her male students.
