Synopsis
In the near future, an advanced AR technology known as Mixed Reality System has become widespread and introduced to the world a new sport. Circlet Bout is particularly popular with high school girls with successful players achieving nationwide fame. Yuka Sasaki has just transferred to Saint Union Academy, but can she revive its ailing Circlet Bout team?
Background
Circlet Princess is inspired by the RPG developed by DMM Games. The anime adaptation was announced in August 2018 and will premiere on Jan. 8, 2019. Miyuki Hashimoto will perform the first season’s opening theme, “HEAT:Moment,” with the ending theme, “Circle-Lets Friends!,” performed by Miyuki Hashimoto, Sayaka Sasaki, Aki Misato, CooRie, yozuca, and Minami.

Yuka Sasaki (Voiced by: Juri Nagatsuma)
Yuka Sasaki has transferred to Saint Union to pursue Circlet Bout. As she was raised out in the country she’s kind of a bumpkin and a little out of place in her new home. Her favorite food is pickled plums.
Miyuki Kasahara (Voiced by: Saki Nakajima)
Miyuki Kasahara is extremely good at sports and has decided to try out Circlet Bout. She joined Saint Union because of the star players they’ve had in the past.
Reina Kuroda (Voiced by: Hitomi Nabatame)
Beautiful and intelligent, straight A student Reina Kuroda is Saint Union’s student representative. She feels responsible for the current state of the school but is opposed to improving it through Circlet Bout.
Ayumu Aizawa (Voiced by: Kaori Mizuhashi)
Ayumu Aizawa is a gifted engineer with a deep interest in MR System. She is obsessed with Circlet Bout but had no particular reason for enrolling at Saint Union.
Nina Avelin (Voiced by: Mai Goto)
Nina Avelin is half Russian on her father’s side. She is very laid back and doesn’t say much but always has the best strategies during games. Nina is also surprisingly shy.
Chikage Fujimura (Voiced by: Atsumi Tanezaki)
Chikage Fujimura is the strongest player at Kurojishi. She is also immensely popular in general and the queen of the Circlet Bout world. She noticed Yuka’s hidden genius after running into her by chance and invited her to join them.
Takane Hibino (Voiced by: Natsuki Aikawa)
Takane Hibino is the second strongest player at Kurojishi after Chikage. She has mixed feelings about Yuka.
Sarina Sekiguchi (Voiced by: Sachie Hirai)
Sarina Sekiguchi is a player at Kurojishi She prides herself on being the strongest player on the team but also harbors mixed feelings towards Chikage and Yuka.
Hiyori Sugiura (Voiced by: Yuna Taniguchi)
Hiyori Sugiura is the captain of the Takamori Circlet Bout team. She is extremely charismatic and runs the team based on cooperation and perseverance. She was quick to spot Yuka’s hidden talent. Hiyori and Takamori are a worthy opponent standing in the way of Yuka and the others as they prepare to challenge Kurojishi.
Kasumi Iida (Voiced by: Megumi Tateishi)
Kasumi Iida is a skilled player at Takamori. A former basketball player she has an athletic physique but is mentally unstable. She is a little put out at playing such a low ranked team as Saint Union.
Akira Tsunemi (Voiced by: Nozomi Chikamura)
Akira Tsunemi is the captain and cheerleader of Musashino. She makes a great partner with childhood friend Arisa and is skilled at defence and offence but also drunk on her own appearance.
Arisa Hara (Voiced by: Yuka Maruyama)
Arisa Hara is a childhood friend of Akira’s.
Kaoru Yoshimura (Voiced by: Harumi Sakurai)
Kaoru Yoshimura is the chief of Eitai.
Christie Yamauchi (Voiced by: Aya Fujita)
Christie Yamauchi is the captain of Hoshinokai. She is proud and hates playing subpar opponents.
