Synopsis

Anne is the princess of the Mysteria Kingdom, and Grea is a princess who is half-dragon and half-human. The two girls live in Mistalsia - a mysterious world where the tribes of humans, gods, and demons coexist - and they’re about to begin attending the world’s most prestigious school for magic, Mysteria Academy.

Background

Mysteria Friends is a TV anime based on the social game Rage of Bahamut. Originally titled Rage of Bahamut: Manaria Friends and later Manaria Friends, it was first announced by Cygames in August 2015 and was set to premiere in April 2016 as part of the Ultra Super Anime Time program but was postponed after an announcement released in March regarding the entire series’ staff being removed. In October 2018, the anime’s release was re-announced. The anime is now being directed by Hideki Okamoto with series composition by Satoko Sekine, character designs by Megumi Ishihara, and animation production by CygamesPictures. The anime will premiere in Japan in January 2019.

Characters

Grea (Voiced by: Ayaka Fukuhara)

A half-dragon, half-human girl. She enrolls in Mysteria Academy in order to get better at living with humans.

Anne (Voiced by: Yoko Hikasa)

The princess of Mysteria Kingdom and a student at Mysteria Academy. She possesses overwhelming magical talent and can summon spirits. A cheerful girl, she has a strong sense of justice and naturally attracts others with her charisma. She is also naive about the ways of the world and a bit of an airhead.

Heinlein (Voiced by: Chiharu Sawashiro)

A teacher at Mysteria Academy who teaches dark magic. He is an expert in his field and is able to handle any situation calmly and cooly.

Miranda (Voiced by: Kikuko Inoue)

A teacher at Mysteria Academy who teaches holy magic. She speaks in a peculiar manner and acts eccentrically. Her hobby is costume making and her office is full of questionable costumes.

Roux (Voiced by: Kimiko Koyama)

A freshman at Mysteria Academy and a total airhead who ends her sentences with “desu.” She becomes friends with a one-eyed monster that came from the sky. Even though she needs more practice at magic, she is carefreely enjoying life at the academy.

Hanna (Voiced by: Nana Mizuki)

The student council president of Mysteria Academy. She loves the academy more than anyone else and has a strong sense of responsibility for it. She is adored by many of the students. She is extremely prideful and able to get things done, but at the same time she can be shy and find it hard to say what she wants.

Owen (Voiced by: Wataru Hatano)

A member of the imperial knights who enrolls in the academy to guard Anne. He is extremely serious and rigid, but he greatly cares for Anne. He is studying magic fencing at the academy.

William (Voiced by: Yuma Uchida)

A student at Mysteria Academy. He gets superior grades and is also active in the academy’s book committee. However, he can also be impatient and loss his cool.

Jill (Voiced by: Hiroshi Naka)

The oldest teacher at Mysteria Academy who teaches the foundations of black magic. He has a calm personality and kindly teaches his students.

Poppy (Voiced by: Lynn)

A student at Mysteria Academy. She adores Student Council President Hanna and serves as her secretary. She has extensive knowledge and a calm demeanor.
