Synopsis
The president of her middle school’s science club, Ueno may be a genius inventor but she’s a total newb when it comes to romance. She’s got the hots for her fellow club member Tanaka (who is totally oblivious to her interest) and creates bizarre and sometimes pervy inventions to try and get his attention, usually to no avail. Enter fellow club member Yamashita who notices Ueno’s advances and decides to act as her assistant in love. Can the two succeed in catching Tanaka’s eye and making Ueno’s budding romance bloom?
Background
How Clumsy You Are, Miss Ueno began as a manga by artist Tugeneko in February 2015 in the seinen manga magazine Young Animal. As of November 2018, four compiled volumes of the manga have been published with a fifth to be released in December.
The anime adaptation is being directed by Tomohiro Yamanashi (Yurumates3Dei) at anime studio Lesprit. Joining him are Ayano Owada (episode director on Black Butler: Book of Circus) as the character designer and animation director, Katsuki Sarutani (WorldEnd) as the art director, Nobuyuki Abe as the sound director, and Yasuhiro Misawa composing the music. The anime will be broadcast on Tokyo MX, BS11, and J:COM TV in Japan beginning in January 2019.

Science Club Members
Ueno (Voiced by: Yu Serizawa)
A genius third-year middle school student, inventor, and president of her school’s science club, Ueno is stoic and strong-willed. Though she has a strong affinity for science and gadgets, she is clumsy and awkward when it comes to matters of romance and is trying to get fellow club member Tanaka to notice her.
Tanaka (Voiced by: Aimi Tanaka)
A second-year middle school student and member of the science club member. Tanaka is the only member of the science club with any shred of common sense. He is completely pure when it comes to romance and as such is totally oblivious to Ueno’s advances.
Yamashita (Voiced by: Akari Kageyama)
A first-year middle school student and a science club member, Yamashita notices Ueno trying to attract Tanaka’s attention and becomes her assistant in helping win over Tanaka. She can become irritated with Tanaka’s innocence. Though she is the youngest member of the club, she is best at remaining calm and being prepared for any outcome.
Mizuna Tanaka (Voiced by: Nichika Omori)
A first-year middle school student, Mizuna is Tanaka's younger sister and Yomogi's older twin sister. Her favorite food is the filling inside Japanese sweets.
Yomogi Tanaka (Voiced by: Miku Ito)
A first-year middle school student, Yomogi is Mizuna’s younger twin sister and Tanaka’s younger sister. She loves anything chocolate mint flavored.
Tamon (Voiced by: Shiori Izawa)
A mascot who appears due to Ueno’s invention "Summonstat."
