Ms. Koizumi Loves Ramen Noodles

Co-produced by Studio Gokumi (Tsurezure Children, Toji no Miko) and AXsiZ (New Game!!), who formerly worked together on Seiren and Pandora in the Crimson Shell: Ghost Urn, Ramen Daisuki Koizumi-san is based on Naru Narumi’s manga comedy published in Takeshobio’s Manga Life Storia magazine from September 2013. Five volumes have been released as of February 2018.

The series also received a live-action drama adaptation with a total of six episodes airing from June 2015 to December 2016.

Faithful to its title, the series follows Koizumi, a transfer student as she explores new, delicious ramen, and, along with it, builds friendships with her classmates, sharing the beauty of ramen with them. The episodes are called “bowls,” and each bowl is divided into two or three shorter parts.

The show features “Feeling Around” by Minori Suzuki as the opening theme and “Love Men Holic” by Shiena Nishizawa as the ending theme.

The anime series premiered on Jan. 4, 2018 and is set to run for 12 episodes.

Koizumi (CV: Ayana Taketatsu)

A mysterious transfer student who recently moved to the area, Koizumi is a beautiful but taciturn girl whose personality changes drastically when ramen is involved, as under that cold demeanor lies a burning passion for everything ramen! She is very knowledgeable about different types of ramen and even goes on pilgrimages to enjoy her favorite dish in the world.

Yu Osawa (CV: Ayane Sakura)

Yu is a cheerful girl with a liking for cute girls. She’s trying to get close to Koizumi all the time, but her approaches are met with refusal. That, however, doesn’t stop her one bit! She has an older brother and she’s also good at cooking.

Misa Nakamura (CV: Akari Kito)

Misa is Yu’s classmate who has a burning jealousy toward Koizumi for being prettier and more popular than her. She loves spicy food, a passion she shares with Koizumi, bringing them somewhat closer.

Jun Takahashi (CV: Yumi Hara)

The president of Yu’s class. Jun is an earnest, orderly person, but she also tends to worry too much and is somewhat cowardly. She used to like ramen, but ever since a certain incident, she stopped eating it...
