Synopsis

Ani is the princess of the minor nation of Inaco and on her way to attend a signing ceremony, meant to guaranteed peace between the nations Selenfalen and Milidonia. Her first encounter is with the prince of Selenfalen, Ruze, who is so lovely and kind that she first mistakes him for a girl! In the midst of the two becoming friendly, the doors burst open, and in come strutting a few other princes she must meet with who won’t be as easy to get along with...

Background

Dame x Prince, also known as DamePri, was first introduced as an otome visual novel. Developed by NHN PlayArts Corp., it was released for Android and iOS in Mar. 2016! This anime adaptation is the first other form of media to come out of this series besides the initial game.

Characters

Ani Inaco (CV: Sayuri Yahagi)
The protagonist of the series and the princess of a minor nation. Despite her status, her father raised her under the policy that even noblewomen and noblemen should work, so she is much stronger and pragmatic than others would assume. She is really fond of potatoes and doesn’t dislike much of anything!

Narek Ischl de Milidonia (CV: Kaito Ishikawa)
He is the incredibly narcissistic prince of Milidonia. Unsurprisingly, he thinks only of himself and takes joy in having a large escort of servants around at all times to keep up appearances. He loves to eat meat the most but is immediately turned off by veggies and any food with a squishy texture.

Vino von Lomzard (CV: Yuuichirou Umehara)
He is the son of one of the most powerful aristocratic families in Milidonia. He absolutely loves being around girls, whether they are young or old. Anything to do with girls, too, is something he really enjoys! He likes to indulge in honey but, for some reason, doesn’t like maple syrup.

Ruze Selen el Phiriazar (CV: Soma Saito)
He is the prince of the nation Selenfalen and the older brother of Mare. Born with a natural charisma and raised carefully, unlike other members of royalty, he lives only for his people. As such, they all love him unconditionally - as far as anyone knows, there isn’t one person who doesn’t like him. He is fond of pickled fish innards but cannot stand raisins in his salads.

Mare Selen el Phiriazar (CV: Ryouhei Kimura)
He is the younger brother of Ruze and also a prince of Selenfalen. Unlike his older brother, who is beloved throughout their nation, Mare prefers the isolation of his room and is seen so rarely, that some even doubt he exist. He enjoys eating mushrooms but seems to have a grudge against anything with suction cups.

Riot Volte (CV: Shunsuke Takeuchi)
He is a strong and distinguished knight of Milidonia who is tasked with, among other things, protecting Narek. Unfortunately, his skills are usually wasted by having to take care of menial things on a day to day basis. While his face is usually stoic, people who know him can tell what he’s feeling by his eyebrows. He loves burdock root but cannot stand marshmallows.

Chrom Rem (CV: Eiji Takemoto)
He is the prince minister of Selenfalen. Not only is he intelligent and religious, but his appearance and traits give him a sensual and otherworldly aura. He is trustworthy and politically minded, but like the people of his nation, is just utterly obsessed with Ruze! He loves to indulge in chocolate but says to heck with rice balls.

Teo Colton (CV: Tomoaki Maeno)
A member of the Inaco nation, he is a farmer that sometimes acts as a knight. He is the childhood friend of Ani and always tries his best around her, even though he can become overly protective and impulsive. He is more than happy to eat anything created by Ani and, much like her, doesn’t dislike much of anything.

Grimaru (CV: Ayaka Saitou)
She is the incredibly adorable, pastel pink guardian best of Inaco! She apparently needs love to grow. Despite the fact that she looks like a cat, she is actually a griffin… of some sort. Just don’t question it in front of her! Give her love and milk to get on her good side… but don’t you dare offer her cat food.
