Synopsis & Background

Butlers: Chitose Momotose Monogatari (or Butlers: A Millennium Century Story) is based on Intouchable Butlers (SummerACG), and the series is centered around Koma Jinguji and Takuya Sato. Jinguji (or Jay) is the student council president who’s well-known for his smile and charm while Tsubasa is an assistant at Café du Vane where he’s extremely popular for his owl latte art.

While each is extremely charming (in particular to ladies), they have a rivalry that spans across thousands of years, and they’re constantly battling in hilarious and extremely powerful battles.

Anime Adaptation

Although originally slated for a January 2018 release, the release of the anime adaptation of Butlers: Chitose Momotose Monogatari was delayed until April 2018.

Masaru Takahashi (Dusk Maiden of Amnesia, Masamune-kun’s Revenge*) has been brought on to direct while Megumi Shimizu (Snow White with the Red Hair, Eureka Seven) is in charge of series composition, and SILVER LINK (Ancient Magus’ Bride, Aikatsu!) is in charge of animation. Masanori Tsuchiya (Chaos;Child, New Game!) is working as sound director with music by TOMISIRO and music production by Lantis. The opening theme has been revealed to be “Growth Arrow” by OLDCODEX.

Characters

Koma Jinguji (CV: Tatsuhisa Suzuki)
Best-known by his nickname Jay, Koma is a second-year high school student, and his character color is blue. He’s the student council president, and his smile melts the hearts of women around him. He even has a fan club!

Tsubasa Hayakawa (CV: Takuya Sato)
Tsubasa works as a shop assistant at Café du Vane with Tachibana, and his character color is green. He’s extremely talented and kind, and he’s especially well-known for his owl latte art.

Kyoichi Sano (CV: Kazuaki Kobayashi)
A second-year high school student with the character color light brown. Kyoichi is a member of the newspaper and “Holmes’” best friend. He calls himself Watson to match and is extremely fond of photography.

Hikari Kageyama (Keisuke Koumoto)
A third-year high school student whose character color is gray. He adores flowers and can frequently be found in the academy’s greenhouse tending to the flowers and greenery. He much prefers to be on his own and has a very mysterious aura.

Yuki Fujishiro (Kenn)
A first-year high school student with the character color purple. He’s extremely princely and thinks very highly of himself, frequently choosing to take naps instead of going to class.

Ren Shiratori (Mitsuki Saiga)
A third-year student whose character color is white. He’s the treasurer of the student council, and he’s extremely conscientious about his appearance and likes to stay clean and tidy. He treats Hotaru like a younger brother.

Takashi Mikuni (Noriaki Sugiyama)
Takashi is the head of the academy, and his character color is indigo. Despite seeming quite serious, he also has a soft side for women and cats! He takes care of a cat in the student council room, as well.

Daichi Kurosawa (Seiichiro Yamashita)
A second-year high school student at with the character color black. Daichi is the head of the academy newspaper, and he loves mysterious. He calls himself Holmes and follows his own path whose interest is only in investigation.

Hotaru Aoba (Takuma Nagatsuka)
A first-year high school student, and his character color is emerald green. Hotaru is the secretary of the student council, and despite his cute appearance, he can be extremely frank. He also knows that he’s cute and frequently uses this to his advantage, and he loves candy and always has some on hand.

Akira Tachibana (Tomoaki Maeno)
Akira is the shop manager of Café du Vane where Tsubasa works, and his character color is orange. He’s an extremely sociable older brother type and the exact opposite of Hayakawa, but he likes Hayakawa a great deal.

Haruto Hizakura (Toshiyuki Toyonaga)
A second-year high school student whose character color is pink. Haruto is the vice president of the student council, and he’s brilliant with computers. He’s excellent with people despite his playboy side, and he wants to become close friends with Jay.
