Alternate Title

少女☆歌劇 レヴュー・スタァライト

At a young age, Karen and Hikari made a promise to each other: one day they would appear on stage alongside each other. The girls were separated, however, when Hikari transfers schools, but the promise still resonates in their hearts.

At 16 they both join a mysterious competition to try to make that happen in Shoujo☆Kageki Revue Starlight. The girls who come out on top will join Revue Starlight, a sing and dance troupe that is known and loved all over the world, but will Karen and Hikari be able to make it…?

Anime Adaptation

Consisting of a musical, manga, and anime series, Shoujo☆Kageki Revue Starlight is a media franchise centered around live performances and music that was created through the combined efforts of Bushiroad and Nelke Planning. The 12-episode anime adaptation is directed by Tomohiro Furukawa with animation by Kinema Citrus, and it began airing on July 12, 2018.

The opening theme is “Hoshi no Dialogue” while the ending theme is “Fly Me to the Star,” both of which are performed by Starlight Kukugumi which is made up of Momoyo Koyama (the voice actress for Karen), Suzuko Mimori (Hikari), Maho Tomita (Maya), Hinata Sato (Junna), Haruki Iwata (Mahiru), Moeka Koizumi (Nana), Aina Aiba (Claudine), Teru Ikuta (Futaba), and Ayasa Ito (Kaoruko).

Ever since she saw a Revue Starlight performance as a little girl, Karen has dreamed of appearing on that same stage alongside Hikari. She’s always cheerful and energetic although she’s not the biggest fan of mornings.

Hikari Kagura (Voiced by: Suzuko Mimori)

Like Karen, Hikari was utterly enchanted when she saw Revue Starlight as a child. The friends parted ways when Hikari returned to England, but they have been reunited in the fierce competition to make their promise come true

Maya Tendo (Voiced by: Maho Tomita)

With a natural gift for performing on the stage, Maya is a beautiful and talented actress with difficulty making friends. She and Claudine have a deeply rooted rivalry for who will come out on top in the competition.

Junna Hoshimi (Voiced by: Hinata Sato)

Junna is the brilliant class representative. She disregarded her parents objections in order to appear on stage. She tends to overthink things and she is very close with Nana. Her dream is to be a star on the stage.

Mahiru Tsuyuzaki (Voiced by: Haruki Iwata)

Mahiru is Karen's roommate and greatly admires her cheerfulness and optimism, and she can’t help being jealous towards Hikari due to their childhood friendship. She has a calm and mature air about her and tends to be shy.

Nana Daiba (Voiced by: Moeka Koizumi)

Overwhelmingly kind, Nana is a mother figure to the other girls and has the nickname “Banana.” She is skilled not only at singing and dancing, but also acting. She’s very close with Junna.

Claudine Saijo (Voiced by: Aina Aiba)

Claudine is half-Japanese on her father’s side and half-French on her mother’s side, and she grew up performing on the stage which has lead to undeniable skill. Ever since transferring to the academy she has had a strong rivalry with Maya.

Futaba Isurugi (Voiced by: Teru Ikuta)

Futaba may be small, but she has a sharp tongue and is very skilled at stage combat. She is a childhood friend of Kaoruko’s and transferred to the school alongside her.

Kaoruko Hanayagi (Voiced by: Ayasa Ito)

Kaoruko is the granddaughter of a Japanese dance master and the childhood friend of Futaba’s. She always has a smile on her face, but this hides her extremely calculated and manipulative side. She’s also well-known for speaking with a Kyoto dialect.
