Synopsis
Zoids! Metal musculature, animal instinct, fighting spirit - the pinnacle of the ecosystem and the strongest possible lifeform. When humans and Zoids come together and forge an unbreakable bond, they will unleash the untold power known as “Wild Blast.”
Anime Adaptation
Zoids Wild is an original anime series inspired by Tomy’s series of plastic model kits. It is the fifth Zoids anime and was launched alongside the Zoids toy line, manga, and Nintendo Switch game. Zoids Wild began airing on Mainichi Broadcasting System and Tokyo Broadcasting System on July 7, 2018. DISH// perform the series’ opening, "Starting Over,” while the ending is "Shonen no Boku e" by PENGUIN RESEARCH.

Arashi (Voiced by: Kensho Ono)

Zoid: Wild Liger
Arashi is the series’ protagonist and the leader of Team Freedom. He is full of the spirit of adventure and has a bright and cheerful, forward-looking personality. Thanks to the influence of his father Igazuchi who is an international Zoid hunter, he’d been ferociously chasing a Zoid partner of his own, but it was an encounter with the legendary Wild Liger that was to change his life forever!
Onigiri (Voiced by: Etsuko Kozakura)
Team: Freedom
Zoid: Gannontoise
Onigiri is a member of Team Freedom and is so knowledgeable about Zoids that he’s gained the nickname “Professor.” Together with his partner Zoid Gannontoise, Onigiri was taken prisoner by Death Metal and forced to conduct his nefarious research which is how he met Arashi.
Penne (Voiced by: Mikako Komatsu)
Team: Freedom
Zoid: Scorpear
Penne is a member of Team Freedom and is good at painting and customising Zoids. She became friends with Arashi while travelling with her Zoid Scorpear to earn competition money.
Gyoza (Voiced by: Subaru Kimura)
Team: Freedom
Zoids: Triceradogs
A member of Team Freedom, Gyoza is a happy-go-lucky kind of guy who can’t live without nori, money, and music.
Bacon (Voiced by: Takahiro Sakurai)
Team: Supreme
Zoids: Fang Tiger
Bacon is the leader of Team Supreme which is made up of top class Zoid hunters. He met Arashi while chasing a Wild Liger that had escaped from the Death Metal Empire. He is travelling in order to find mysterious hidden treasure.
Drake (Voiced by: Kaito Ishikawa)
Team: Death Metal Empire
Zoid: Gilraptor
Drake is member of the Death Metal Empire. He is stalking Arashi to take back the Wild Liger that escaped from the Empire and is confident that his Gilraptor Zoid is strong enough to crush them but is also subject to the orders of Emperor Galaga.
Caviar
Team: Death Metal Empire
Zoid: Gabrigator
Caviar is a member of the Death Metal Empire and the tyrannical ruler of several cities. He boasts that he’s made 9999 people disappear and is ruthless even with his own subordinates. A trickster with words, Caviar is adept at laying traps and other underhanded strategies.
Wild Liger
Species: Lion
The Wild Liger is a legendary Zoid with a white mane. It posses extreme fighting skill and can rip into its enemies with its sharp claws and fangs. When its instincts are awakened, the hidden Mane Claw on its back is unleashed to tear the enemy apart.
Gannontoise
Species: Tortoise
A medium-sized Zoid, Gannontoise has hard shell armor and excellent defensive capabilities. During battle the armor can also form a defensive wall around the rider. When its abilities are unlocked, the shell opens up to reveal a huge Gannon Cannon.
Scorpear
Species: Scorpion
Scorpear can bury itself in the sand for surprise attacks. When its abilities are activated, the Poison Spear can be deployed from its tail.
Triceradogs
Species: Triceratops
Fang Tiger
Species: Saber-toothed tiger
Gilraptor
Species: Deinonychus
Gilraptor is a medium-sized Zoid whose powerful spring-action legs and back-mounted jet boosters make it a nimble beast. When its abilities are awakened, the “Wing Shotel” claw is released from its back.
Gabrigator
Species: Sarcosuchus
Gabrigator is a small Zoid perfectly adapted for sneak attacks. It can shield itself in fog to cloud the enemy’s field of vision. When its abilities are awakened, Gabrigator’s upper body extends to become a giant mouth filled with the Crumble Jaw.
