Synopsis
In a post-apocalyptic world devastated by nuclear war, individual freedom has been restricted by the authoritarian rule of the World Empire. While it is forbidden to possess weapons, a resistance movement has come together to oppose the World Empire by arming itself with antique guns which have been allowed to survive as beautiful objects of art. As if answering a call of rebellion, the spirits of the guns themselves transform into flesh and arrive to join the fight. Armed with “Absolute Nobility,” the so called “Musketeers” resist the embodiments of modern weapons belonging to the empire and continue their battle to return hope to the world.
Anime Adaptation
The Thousand Noble Musketeers is adapted from Marvelous’ hit smartphone game of the same name in which the player collects and fights with various anthropomorphised guns. The anime adaptation was announced at AnimeJapan in March 2018, and the 12-episode first season began airing on July 3, 2018. Sentai Filmworks have licensed the series for the US and is streaming it via HIDIVE.
The series’ opening theme is "Antique Memory" by Taku Yashiro and Yoshiki Nakajima while vistlip perform the ending, "BLACK MATRIX.”

Brown Bess is the gun which built the British Empire. A typically tsundere chap, Brown Bess believes in chivalry and will protect his master like a knight of old (even if his aim’s a bit off).
Charleville (Voiced by: Shinnosuke Tachibana)

Elegant French gun Charleville has managed to perfect his beautiful silhouette through restraining himself from indulging in his favourite pleasure - sweets. If it’s a sweets date with his master though he’ll probably take a day off from the diet.
Springfield (Voiced by: Shouta Aoi)

Sweets: apple pie, hamburgers
Springfield is the good old musket born for the American revolutionary war! He is the little brother of Charleville and still continues to look up to him (even though he’s almost catching up in height). He might seem a bit unreliable but he’s determined to become the best Musketeer ever.
Kentucky (Voiced by: Yuki Kaji)

An all-American boy, Kentucky has excellent aim but takes a little longer to reload. He likes to think he’s worth the trouble though!
Napoleon (Voiced by: Daisuke Namikawa)

It’s only the emperor of France! Napoleon carries a flintlock shotgun engraved with a large N and the royal coat of arms. He can fire either multiple pellets or a single shot.
Rapp (Voiced by: Wataru Hatano)

Rapp is the adjutant to the Emperor of France, Napoleon. He carries the rifle given to him by Napoleon which features a carving of a horse. He vows to serve his master in a manner befitting the greatest of generals.

Twin brother of Noël, Nicola is one of two pistols gifted to the Emperor Napoleon. Unlike all those other foolish grown ups, Nicola is determined to study hard to become just like his beloved general.

Noël is the twin brother of Nicola and one of two pistols gifted to the Emperor Napoleon. He doesn’t believe the rumours that Napoleon is not a real king and is determined to read lots of books to become smart like him.
Ieyasu (Voiced by: Tomoaki Maeno)

Ieyasu is the matchlock gun used by the first general of the Edo shogunate, Tokugawa Ieyasu. He is determined to serve his master well and avoid bringing shame to the Ieyasu name.
Hidetada (Voiced by: Soma Saito)

Hidetada is the matchlock rifle that belonged to second general of the Tokugawa shogunate, Tokugawa Hidetada. He is determined to fight alongside Ieyasu and bring glory to their name.

Yukimura is the famed horseback rifle used by Sanada Nobushige. He is determined to seize his chance to show that he can be just as cool as his master.
Dreyse (Voiced by: Takuya Sato)

Dreyse was responsible for the expansion of the Prussian empire as the world’s first bolt action light rifle. He is determined to serve to the best of his ability.
Chassepot (Voiced by: Takuya Eguchi)

Hobbies: gun maintenance, muscle training
Likes: France, terrine
Modelled on the Dreyse, Chassepot is an upgraded bolt action rifle overflowing with French aesthetic. He has a rivalry with Dreyse but is determined to serve to the best of his ability.
Tabatière (Voiced by: Hiroki Takahashi)

A Frenchman through and through, Tabatière got his name thanks to resembling a tobacco container and is determined to protect his master.
Lorenz (Voiced by: Kotaro Nishiyama)

Lorenz is an Austrian rifle and a forerunner to the Dreyse. He may be an outdated model but is determined to prove his worth on the battlefield.
Ali Pasha (Voiced by: Yuki Ono)

Lion of the Yannina, Ali Pasha wants to rule the world and has no interest in freedom or peace. He only cares about wealth and power and obeys orders from no one other than himself.

Esen is just your ordinary everyday musket. His uniform might imply he was born in the Ottoman Empire, but he’s actually French.

Mahmut is a gun of the Imperial Ottoman Sultanate. Built for ostentation more than use, Mahmut is strictly a display model but does have a talent for commerce.

Aleksandr is a gun who once belonged to Aleksandr I, 10th Tsar of Russia and was given to him as a present by his doting grandmother, Ekaterina II. He likes it when he’s called him Noble Gunner Aleksandr.

Once owned by Ekaterina II Tsarina of Russia, Ekaterina gets stronger the cuter she gets.

Furusato is the first matchlock rifle to arrive in Japan from China. He is very excited to have joined the resistance and found his gun family. Furusato just wants everyone to live together in harmony.

Kinbee is the very first Japanese gun and was modelled on Furusato. He is old and elegant but determined to become an asset to the resistance.
