Synopsis
Taichi Nishimura is just a run-of-the-mill average high schooler, and Rin Azuma is a jaw-dropping beauty who looks like a model. The two lived an average high school life until one day suddenly they were both enveloped in a strange magical light and transported to an unfamiliar fantasy-like world where a multitude of different races including dreadful goblins, brutes, dwarves, and elves live. Stuck in this new world together, Taichi and Rin decide to become adventurers to survive, but after an aptitude test is performed it’s found out that they’re both using “cheat” magic!
Background
Isekai Cheat Magician began as a light novel series written by Takeru Uchida and illustrated by Nardack that appeared as a web novel on the website Shosetsuka ni Naro beginning in 2012. In 2013 Shufunotomo began publishing the novel series in print. Nine volumes have been published as of May 2019.
A manga adaptation by Karin Suzuragi began serialization in Kadokawa Shoten's Monthly Shonen Ace magazine in December 2016. So far five tankobon volumes have been released. A spin-off four-panel manga titled Soreyuke! Isekai Cheat Magician by Taku Kawamura is also being serialized on ComicWalker and Niconico Seiga.
An anime adaptation was announced in April 2018. The anime is being directed by Daisuke Tsukushi, with Takayo Ikami handling series composition, Shuji Maruyama handling character designs, and music by Yoshiaki Fujisawa. Encourage Films is producing. The anime will premiere in Japan in July. The opening theme song, “Panta Rhei,” will be performed by Myth & Roid, while the ending theme song will be performed by Rie Takahashi.

Taichi Nishimura (Voiced by: Kohei Amasaki)
Taichi used to be just an average high school boy, until one day he is transported to another world and given tremendous power through unique magical abilities. He is close friends with Rin.
Rin Azuma (Voiced by: Rie Takahashi)
Rin has a model figure with curves in all the right places and is admired by 9 out of 10 people for her stunning looks. Rin is a rare type of magician who can use all four elemental magics. She joins up with Taichi to go adventuring.
Remia (Voiced by: Sayaka Ohara)
A top-class magician who also goes by the name “Conjurer of Fallen Leaves,” Remia is world renowned for her powerful magical abilities. She lives in a remote forest where she enjoys researching magic and cooking while she mentors Myura.
Myura (Voiced by: Minami Tanaka)
A beautiful girl with bewitching features, Myura is an elf girl who possesses superior fire and earth magic abilities and is also highly proficient in fencing. She is strong enough to be able to easily handle A-rank quests by herself. Due to her stunning looks and long blonde hair, she is called “Golden Swordswoman” by fellow adventurers.
