Synopsis

Set in Shibuya. As an elementary school student, Ryuhei Oda witnessed the mysterious death of his brother, who was kind and admired by others. Now a cheerful high school student, he doesn’t let the nightmare surrounding him affect him. One day while kickboxing, he is bitten by a mysterious creature called Tris and has a strange dream. He confronts his twisted desires as rumored “Drops” fly through the darkness. What does he see beyond that?

Background

D_Cide Traumerei is a mixed media project by Sumzap, Drecom, and Bushiroad that will be released as a smartphone game and anime in summer 2021. The anime is being produced by SANZIGEN Animation Studio and features Yoshikazu Kon (A Certain Scientific Railgun, Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere II, Mobile Suit Gundam 00) as director with Hiroshi Ohnogi (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom, Phantasy Star Online 2: Episode Oracle) handling series composition, Shigeru Morikawa (The Familiar of Zero: Knight of the Twin Moons, Ouran High School Host Club, Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion the Animation) advising, and Kohei Tanaka (GaoGaiGar: King of the Braves, Mobile Fighter G Gundam, One Piece) composing the background music. The opening theme song is "Kemono no Kotowari" by Tokyo Jihen. The anime will premiere in Japan on July 10, 2021 on Tokyo MX and other channels.

Characters

Ryuhei Oda (Voiced by: Yohei Azakami)
A second-year high school student living in Tokyo. He has a cheerful, laid-back, and honest personality. He has a strong sense of justice and is the type to act before he thinks. When he hears about the Weird appearing, he risks his life to face them.

Rena Mori (Voiced by: Ayasa Ito)
A second-year high school student with a cheerful personality who goes to the same school as Ryuhei. She is a so-called gyaru and is an influencer with tens of thousands of followers on the social media platform Kyawasta, which is popular with young people.

Eri Ibusaki (Voiced by: Marika Kono)
A cool and serious second-year student who goes to the same school as Ryuhei and Rena. She is an honors student and her dad is a top brass in the National Police Agency. She doesn’t smile often and always listens to everyone’s discussions from the outside.

Aruto Fushibe (Voiced by: Shun Horie)
An elementary school student born and raised in Tokyo. He is a skilled gamer and has won prize money from performing in esports tournaments. He does all the housework in place of his ill mother and seems more mature than his age. He is often cheeky.

Jessica Claiborne (Voiced by: Aoi Yuki)
A mysterious girl from America. Though she looks like an elementary school student, it’s said that she’s actually an adult. She is a self-proclaimed former member of the US Army and is an accomplished tactician who always keeps a cool head.

Tris (Voiced by: Haruna Momono)
A mysterious creature who makes Ryuhei and the others Knocker-Ups.
