Synopsis

Set in “Nearland,” an AI theme park where dreams, hopes, and science are mixed together. Vivy, the first-ever autonomous humanoid AI, works at the park as an AI cast member and sings on stage every day to the delight of crowds. Her dream is to one day stand on the main stage of the park and sing her heart out in order to bring happiness to everyone. One day, an AI from 100 years in the future named Matsumoto suddenly appears in front of her and tells her that he needs her help to stop a war that will happen in the future between AI and humans. Thus begins their mission of altering the future for the betterment of not just AI but humanity.

Background

Vivy -Fluorite Eye's Song- is an original anime series written by Tappei Nagatsuki and Eiji Umehara and produced by WIT STUDIO. It features Shinpei Ezaki (Guilty Crown: Lost Christmas, Gunslinger Stratos: The Animation, Kimi ni Todoke - From Me to You) as director with Yusuke Kubo (Banana Fish, Goblin Slayer, Juni Taisen: Zodiac War) as assistant director, Yuichi Takahashi (2.43: Seiin High School Boys Volleyball Team, Comet Lucifer, FLCL Alternative) adapting loundraw’s original character designs for animation, and Satoru Kousaki (Beastars, Fate/Extra Last Encore, Monogatari Series Second Season) handling the music. The anime’s opening theme song is "Sing My Pleasure" by Kairi Yagi. It will premiere in Japan on April 3, 2021 on Tokyo MX, BS11, MBS, and other channels.

Characters

Vivy (Voiced by: Atsumi Tanezaki)
The first-ever autonomous humanoid AI. As an AI songstress, her mission is to “make everyone happy through singing.” In order to achieve this, she sings with all her heart.

Matsumoto (Voiced by: Jun Fukuyama)
An AI who comes to Vivy from 100 years in the future. His mission is to “avoid a war between AI and humans.” In order to achieve this, he and Vivy set out to destroy AI. He is talkative, overconfident, and has a unique personality unlike any other AI.
