Synopsis

Sei Takanashi is a workaholic in her 20s who returns home one night after a long day of overtime and is suddenly enveloped in light and transported to another world as a “saint.” Unfortunately, the ritual that was supposed to only summon a single saint ends up summoning two, and everyone seems to be enamored with the other girl who was summoned and completely ignores her. Finding herself stuck in an unfamiliar world, she decides to leave the royal capital and begins working at a medicinal plant research lab using her magic powers to create powerful healing potions. So powerful, in fact, they are 50% more effective! But when one of her potions is used to save the life of a dying knight commander named Albert, rumors begin to spread that she may, in fact, be the real saint.

Background

The Saint's Magic Power Is Omnipotent began as a light novel series written by Yuka Tachibana and illustrated by Yasuyuki Syuri that began on the user-generated novel publishing site Shosetsuka ni Naro in 2016 before being picked up by Fujimi Shobo who began publishing it under their Kadokawa Books imprint in February 2017. Six volumes have been published to date. A manga adaptation illustrated by Fujiazuki began serialization on Kadokawa Shoten's ComicWalker website in July 2017, and it has been collected into five tankobon volumes to date. Both the light novel and manga are licensed for release in North America through Seven Seas Entertainment.

An anime adaptation was announced in December 2020. It is being produced by diomedéa and directed by Shota Ibata with Wataru Watari handling series composition, Masakazu Ishikawa handling character designs, and Kenichi Kuroda composing the music. The anime’s opening theme song is "Blessing" by Aira Yuki, and the ending theme song is "Page for Tomorrow" by NOW ON AIR. The anime will premiere in Japan on April 6, 2021 on Tokyo MX, AT-X, and MBS. Funimation has licensed the series for release in North America.

Sei Takanashi (Voiced by: Yui Ishikawa)
An office worker in her 20s who immerses herself in her work until she is suddenly summoned to an unfamiliar world by a ritual that was supposed to summon a saint. A plant lover by nature, she chooses to begin working at a medicinal plant research lab. She has an earnest personality and inquisitive mind, and, coupled with her magical power as a saint, she is able to create potions that are 50% more powerful. She is inexperienced in romance.

Albert Hawke (Voiced by: Takahiro Sakurai)
Commander of the Third Order of the Royal Court. He is the third son of the Hawke family. He is a good leader and is trusted by the knights in the order. He has blue-gray eyes and is called “Ice Knight” by many women due to his cool appearance and proficiency with ice magic. He sometimes shows a softer side in front of Sei.

Johan Valdec (Voiced by: Takuya Eguchi)
Director of the medicinal plant research lab and the second son of Count Valdek. He is aware of Sei's situation after she ran away from the royal palace and welcomes her warmly to the lab. He is quick to notice her peculiar magical power, but doesn’t interfere more than necessary, and always watches over her. He is a childhood friend of Albert's and secretly enjoys the growing relationship between him and Sei.

Yuri Drewes (Voiced by: Yusuke Kobayashi)
The head of the royal court’s mage division. Originally a commoner, he was adopted by the Marquis of Drewes for his high aptitude for magic. He appears to be a good-natured young man, but he is an oddball who is only interested in researching magic and magical powers. As a magician, he has no rival in the kingdom, and he is the only one who can use appraisal magic on people. He is the one who ritual summoned the saints, and he is curious about Sei's unknown magical power.

Jude (Voiced by: Taku Yashiro)
A researcher at the medicinal plant research lab. He is the first person to show Sei around the lab, and as a result, he is in charge of her training. He has a friendly and caring personality and is a valuable person whom Sei can easily get to know.
