Synopsis

Ninja don’t exist…or so we think. Even if they did exist though, they keep their presence hidden, so for all intents and purposes, it’s as if they really don’t exist. Ittoki Sakuraba is an ordinary boy who, like us, doesn't think ninja exist. He thought he was promised a normal youth full of bright, happy days, but his life changes when he is attacked one day and finds out the Koga ninja clan was behind it. In questioning why he was targeted, he comes to learn that he is the legitimate heir who will become the 19th head of the Iga ninja clan! The Iga and Koga clans have long been at odds with each other, and the Koga clan is on the offensive. Now, the only way he can survive is to become a ninja himself!

Background

Shinobi no Ittoki is an upcoming original TV anime being produced by TROYCA. It features Shuu Watanabe as director, with Minato Takano handling series composition and scripts, Isamu Suzuki as character designer and chief animation director, Atsushi Okuda as the main animator, and TOMISIRO who is composing the music. The anime’s opening theme song is “Hikari” by Humbreaders, and the ending theme song is “Oboetate” by hockrockb. The anime will premiere in Japan on Oct. 4, 2022 on Tokyo MX and AT-X.

Characters

Ittoki Sakuraba (Voiced by: Ryota Ohsaka)
Ittoki is a first-year high school student who suddenly finds his life in danger when he is told that he is an Iga ninja and the son of the head of the clan.

Tokisada Kaga (Voiced by: Katsuyuki Konishi)
Tokisada is an Iga ninja. Normally, he works as a clerk in a dead-end service job, but in truth he is known as the most powerful ninja and is feared as “Asura Tokisada.”

Kosetsu (Voiced by: Haruka Shiraishi)
Kosetsu is an Iga ninja and Ittoki’s childhood friend. She is quiet and always wears a mask. She has been watching over Ittoki since he was a child.

Kirei Kisegawa (Voiced by: Aoi Yuki)
Kirei is one of Ittoki’s friends at the ninjutsu academy. She is a mood maker and an affable beauty.

Ryoko Suzunone (Voiced by: Hitomi Sekine)
Ryoko is one of Ittoki’s friends at the ninjutsu academy. He is a Saikashu ninja and is obsessed with ninja gear.

Suzaku Ban (Voiced by: Taito Ban)
Suzaku is a Koga ninja who attends the same ninjutsu academy as Ittoki. He admires the Koga Maegashira but resents the Iga ninja clan, whom he considers his enemies, and is aiming for Ittoki.

Himura Takane (Voiced by: Taku Yashiro)
Similarly to Suzaku, Himura is a Koga ninja attending the ninjutsu academy. He takes after his father Enbi with his warmongering personality, and he views Ittoki as his enemy.

Yuka Sakuraba (Voiced by: Kikuko Inoue)
Yuka is Ittoki’s mother. She manages a rest stop in Iga village and is the 18th head of the Iga clan.

Mitsuzo Moriyama (Voiced by: Kan Tanaka)
Mitsuzo is an Iga ninja who works at a rest stop in Iga village. Everyone in the village trusts him implicitly.

Ayaha Tsuge (Voiced by: Naomi Shindoh)
Ayaha is an Iga ninja. Like Mitsuzo, she also works at the rest stop in Iga village.

Hoo Ban (Voiced by: Masaki Terasoma)
Hoo is one of the top brass of the Koga ninjas and is Suzaku’s father. He works hard for the future of Koga village.

Enbi Takane (Voiced by: Yasuhiro Mamiya)
Enbi is one of the top brass of the Koga ninjas and is Himura’s father. Due to their differing opinions, he often quarrels with Hoo.

Satomi Tsubaki (Voiced by: Miyu Tomita)
Satomi was Ittoki’s underclassman in junior high and has feelings for him.

Kido Minobe (Voiced by: Kenjiro Tsuda)
Kido is the acting head of the Koga ninjas who took over after the death of his brother and former head. He rules through force, such as returning pain with pain.

Shione Kоozuki (Voiced by: Yuki Takada)
Shione is a rookie officer with the National Security Ninjutsu Countermeasure Division. He has a strong sense of justice and is originally from Hakata.

Hayato Goshogawara (Voiced by: Tomoaki Maeno)
Hayato is the captain of the National Security Ninjutsu Countermeasure Division’s 1st Unit and serves as an officer for the agency. His subordinates trust him completely.

Genji Kajarishi (Voiced by: Masaya Matsukaze)
Genji is the captain of the National Security Ninjutsu Countermeasure Division’s 2nd Unit. He is a skilled detective who investigates cases and finds clues on his own.

Juzen Jiraibоo (Voiced by: Mugihito)
Juzen is the headmaster of the Kokuten Ninjutsu Academy. He loves big manju.

Kominami Mitsuhashi (Voiced by: Nanako Mori)
Kominami is a teacher at the Kokuten Ninjutsu Academy. He has a strict side and puts his students through the paces during training.

Gantetsu Suzunone (Voiced by: Atsushi Imaruoka)
Gantetsu is the head of the Saika ninja. He is a craftsman of ninja tools with old-fashioned pride and is also Ryoko’s father.

Kisuke Ninokuru (Voiced by: Kenyuu Horiuchi)
Kisuke is a member of the council of high-ranking ninja from Sagami.

Kurodo Dazai (Voiced by: Kenji Nomura)
Kurodo is a member of the council of high-ranking ninja from Mutsu.

Yachiyo Mochizuki (Voiced by: Kaori Nakamura)
Yachiyo is a member of the council of high-ranking ninja from Kai.

Amadeus Yoshinaka Nishina (Voiced by: Hiroki Maeda)
Amadeus is a member of the council of high-ranking ninja from Shinano.
