Synopsis
A.S. (Ad Stella) 122: An era when numerous companies have expanded into space and built a massive economic system. A lone girl from a remote region of Mercury transfers into Asticassia School of Technology, which is operated by the Beneritt Group, the largest mobile suit manufacturer. Her name is Suletta Mercury. With a scarlet light shining in her innocent heart, she steps into a whole new world.
Background
Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury is an upcoming TV anime and the 15th main entry in the globally popular Gundam franchise. The project was first revealed at the 2nd Gundam Conference held in September 2021 and was announced as “Gundam Project.” It is the first new Gundam TV anime in seven years since Iron-Blooded Orphans, and Bandai Namco Group is implementing a large-scale development plan together with G-PARTNER with the goal of attracting new younger fans around the world.
The anime is being planned by Sunrise with production by Bandai Namco Filmworks, Mainichi Broadcasting System, and Sotsu. It features Hiroshi Kobayashi as director and Ryo Ando as assistant director, with Ichiro Okouchi handling series composition and scripts, Ryoji Sekinishi as mechanical coordinator, Hirotoshi Takaya, Marie Tagashira, and Shuri Toida as character designers, Ippei Gyobu, JNTHED, Kanetake Ebikawa, Kenji Teraoka, Takayuki Yanase, and Wataru Inada as mechanical designers, Kanta Suzuki, Kiyoaki Maeda, and Shinya Kusumegi as chief mecha animators, and Takashi Ohmama as music composer. The anime’s opening theme song is “Shukufuku” by YOASOBI. The anime will premiere in Japan on Oct. 2, 2022 on MBS and TBS and will be streamed overseas through Crunchyroll. It will run for two cours (quarters of a year) with a break in between.

Suletta Mercury (Voiced by: Kana Ichinose)
Suletta is a second-year student from Mercury who transfers into Asticassia School of Technology's piloting department. She is introverted and lacks communication skills. She pilots the mobile suit Gundam Aerial, which was developed on Mercury.
Miorine Rembran (Voiced by: Lynn)
Marine is a second-year student in Asticassia School of Technology’s management strategy department who has both beauty and brains and is at the top of her class. She is the only daughter of Delling Rembran, the school board’s chairman and the president of the Beneritt Group. She has strong hostility toward her father.
Guel Jeturk (Voiced by: Yohei Azakami)
Guel is a third-year student in Asticassia School of Technology's piloting department and the heir to Jeturk Heavy Machinery, one of the Beneritt Group's three branches. He has a wild temperament and a short fuse. He has absolute confidence in his abilities as Jeturk House’s ace pilot. He pilots the mobile suit Dilanza.
Elan Ceres (Voiced by: Natsuki Hanae)
Elan is a third-year student in Asticassia School of Technology's piloting department who is backed by Peil Technologies, one of the Beneritt Group's three branches. Though the head of Peil House, he is a solitary person who doesn’t open up to anyone at school. He is interested in Suletta. He pilots the mobile suit Gundam Pharact.
Shaddiq Zenelli (Voiced by: Makoto Furukawa)
Shaddiq is a third-year student in Asticassia School of Technology's piloting department and the adopted son of the CEO of Grassley Defense Systems, one of the Beneritt Group’s three branches. He is the leader of Grassley House and is a smooth-talking ladies man with a carefree attitude. Though a student, he also shows aptitude for business and is a candidate to be a next generation executive in the Group. He pilots the mobile suit Michaelis.
Nika Nanaura (Voiced by: Yume Miyamoto)
Nika is a second-year student in Asticassia School of Technology’s mechanical department and a member of Earth House. She loves mecha and is deeply curious about Suletta’s Gundam Aerial. She has excellent maintenance skills and is proud of the customizations she made to Chuchu’s Demi Trainer.
Chuatury Panlunch (Voiced by: Miyu Tomita)
Chuatury is a first-year student in Asticassia School of Technology's piloting department and a member of Earth House. She hates Spacians who discriminate against Earthians and often gets into fights. She pilots an old, restored Demi Trainer. Her nickname is Chuchu.
