Background

Shine Post is an idol-themed mixed-media project created by Konami Digital Entertainment and Straight Edge that consists of a light novel, manga, video game, and upcoming TV anime. The light novel Shine Post: Nee Shitteta? Watashi o Zettai Idol ni Suru Tame no, Goku Futsu de Atarimae na, to Bikkiri no Maho written by Rakuda and illustrated by Buriki began publication in October 2021 under ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki Bunko imprint. Two volumes have been published as of March 2022. A manga series illustrated by Makiko Kawasemi began serialization in Media Factory's Monthly Comic Alive seinen manga magazine in January 2022. A video game produced by Akihiro Ishihara and developed by Konami Digital Entertainment is also in the works.

A TV anime was announced in October 2021. It is being produced by Studio KAI and features Kei Oikawa as director, with SPP handling series composition, Rakuda and Tatsuto Higuchi penning the script, Yoshihiro Nagata handling character designs, Yusuke Soen handling sub-character designs, and Tsubasa Ito and Yasunori Nishiki composing the music. The anime will premiere in Japan on July 12, 2022 during the AnichU timeslot on NTV and other channels and will be streamed overseas exclusively through HIDIVE.

Characters

TINGS

Haru Nabatame (Voiced by: Sayumi Suzushiro)
Haru is a member of the idol unit TINGS, belonging to the talent agency Brightest. She usually wears glasses and styles her hair in braids. She is a positive, upbeat girl no matter the situation.

Kyoka Tamaki (Voiced by: Moeko Kanisawa)
Kyoka is a member of TINGS who supports the group with her reliable singing voice and skilled dancing. She has a calm personality that doesn’t match her cute appearance, and she sometimes talks rudely to the other girls and Naoki.

Rio Seibu (Voiced by: Yuko Natsuyoshi)
Rio is a member of TINGS who is a happy-go-lucky sort with a groundless sense of self-confidence. On the other hand, she is overly honest and trusting, which leads to her being easily deceived.

Yukimoji

Yukine Gionji (Voiced by: Rimo Hasegawa)
Yukine is a hot-blooded girl who is a member of the idol group Yukimoji together with Momiji. Both of her parents are famous actors, and she herself has excellent acting ability.

Momiji Itо (Voiced by: Rika Nakagawa)
Momiji belongs to the talent agency Brightest and is a member of the idol unit Yukimoji together with Yukine. She is an outstanding dancer who, according to Rio, is at the level of being a “shivering idiot.”

Hotaru

Hotaru (Voiced by: Ayaka Ohashi)
Hotaru is known as the “absolute idol” and is number one in terms of both popularity and ability. All the idols, including the girls of TINGS, aspire to be like her.

HY:RAIN

Ren Kurogane (Voiced by: Yu Serizawa)
Ren is the leader of the popular up-and-coming idol group HY:RAIN. She attends the same school as Haru, but their relationship is somewhat complicated.

Aoba Karabayashi (Voiced by: Kurumi Takase)
Aoba is the older sister of Itoha and a member of HY:RAIN. Her calm demeanor makes her the older sister of the group. Though she appears to be meek, she has strong debating skills and is adept at defeating her opponents.

Itoha Karabayashi (Voiced by: Miyu Kubota)
Itoha is the youngest and most competitive member of HY:RAIN. On the other hand, she is also the lonely type and has a childish side due to being spoiled by her older sister, Aoba.

Nanoka Hiumi (Voiced by: Tomoyo Takayanagi)
Nanoka is the calmest and hardest working member of HY:RAIN. She has the strongest desire of anyone to become an idol, though she keeps it hidden. Perhaps due to her overly quiet nature, she’s not good at fan service.

Yawara Naekawa (Voiced by: Arisa Kori)
Yawara is the oldest member of the group together with Aoba. Thanks to her background as a former rhythmic gymnast, her performances during live shows are second to none.

FFF

Nanami Totsuka (Voiced by: Iori Noguchi)
Nanami is the leader of FFF, the signature group of the talent agency Brightest. She is tremendously popular due to her androgenous looks and cheerful personality.

Hinatsu Hinomoto (Voiced by: Hina Kino)
Hinatsu is the youngest member of the group. She grew up in the countryside and has tremendous stamina for her small size. She’s also a bit of a cry baby.

Remi Nashinoki (Voiced by: Fairouz Ai)
Yoshimi is the poster girl for Brightest and is a member of FFF. Though she tends to be misunderstood due to her behavior and image, she is actually the most level-headed of the group and is a reliable girl who takes care of her juniors.

Yurayura Sisters

Natalya (Voiced by: Aoi Koga)
The bigger member of the two-person unit Yurayura Sisters, which is popular among kids. She understands that an idol should be someone who captures the hearts of fans and has a very professional awareness.

Miina Hirose (Voiced by: Kiara Saito)
Miina is the smaller member of the two-person unit Yurayura Sisters, which is popular among kids. Though usually quiet, she’s also a gutsy girl who shows up when it’s go time.

Others

Yuki Hinase (Voiced by: Mikako Komatsu)
Yuki is the president of the talent agency Brightest and is Naoki’s cousin. In addition to her duties as president, she is also the manager of the idol group FFF. She has the ability to strongly see a person’s true potential and has solid managerial skills.

Homare Torawatari (Voiced by: Miyu Tomita)
Homare is Haru’s 16-year-old childhood friend. She and Haru have been best friends since elementary school and are in the same class. She supports Haru in her idol activities as a member of TINGS from a distance.

Eiko Kikuchi (Voiced by: Atsumi Tanezaki)
Eiko is the capable manager of the popular idol group Yurayura Sisters. She has a pure love for idols and is quite knowledgeable. She is an acquaintance of Naoki’s from long ago and sees him as a rival.
