Synopsis

Musashi Shinonome is the new manager of a run down pachinko hall called Shitamachi God Heaven that his grandfather used to own. But there’s something unusual about this pachinko hall - it’s filled with anthropomorphized pachislot machine girls! A zany work comedy about the world of pachinko begins!

Background

Hanabi-chan wa Okuregachi started as a manga series written by Ranpu Shirogane and illustrated by Mamimu that began serialization on Hero’s Inc.’s webcomic site Comiplex in November 2019. As of October 2021, four collected tankobon volumes have been published.

A TV anime adaptation was announced in August 2021. It is being produced by Gaina (Cap Kakumei Bottleman DX, Forest of Piano, Hulaing Babies Aratame: Staying Babies) and features Hiromitsu Kanazawa (Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya - Licht Nameless Girl, The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated!, Seitokai Yakuindomo) as director, series composer, and scriptwriter, Asami Sodeyama (A Good Librarian Like a Good Shepherd, How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift?, Komi Can't Communicate) as character designer and chief animation director, and Tsukasa Yatoki (Ensemble Stars!, Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere II, Magical Girl Ore) as music composer. The anime will premiere in Japan on July 10, 2022 on BS11.

Hanabi Hana Ariake (Voiced by: Azumi Waki)
A Hanabi pachislot machine that transforms into a girl. Due to having worked non-stop during her days as a pachislot machine, after becoming a girl she spends her days lazing around.

Versus Ikusa Takanawa (Voiced by: Sumire Uesaka)
A Versus pachislot machine that transforms into a girl. She takes on everything with her full power and is an energetic and powerful slot girl.

Thunder Rai Nihonbashi (Voiced by: M.A.O)
A Thunder V pachislot machine that transforms into a girl. She has a gentle and calm personality and is a reliable older sister type who excels at cooking and cleaning.

Tacoslot Sumi Horie (Voiced by: Nao Toyama)
A Tacoslot pachislot machine that transforms into a girl. She is a comical slot girl who runs a takoyaki stall and dreams of the day when the videos she takes will go viral.

Mogumogu Cho Higashisakura (Voiced by: Naomi Ozora)
A Super Mogumogu 2 pachislot machine that transforms into a girl. She is a positive slot girl who continues to gamble even though she keeps losing.

Condor Tsubasa Isogami (Voiced by: Yoshino Nanjo)
A Cranky Condor pachislot machine that transforms into a girl. She is a mysterious slot girl with top-notch pachislot skills and is a bit of a sadist.

Musashi Shinonome (Voiced by: Fumiya Imai)
Musashi is a new manager who has taken over his grandfather’s business Shitamachi God Heaven. He is a hard-worker surrounded by Hanabi and the others and acts as the straight man to their antics.

Kojiro (Voiced by: Emiri Kato)
Kojiro is the manager of the pachinko hall Parlor Hero and is Musashi’s childhood friend. He sometimes fights with Musashi, who runs a competing parlor, but deep down he is very kind and hardworking.

Kumazawa (Voiced by: Toshiki Masuda)
A kind-hearted bear who works with Versus. He also works at Shitamachi God Heaven as a staff member.

Ikkaku-kun (Voiced by: Mari Hino)
A thundercloud that works with Thunder. Together, the two have a combined special move called Thunderbolt SP that releases tremendous electrical energy.
