Synopsis

Yuji is an employee at an exploitative company who is suddenly summoned to another world! There, he is given the job of Tamer, an unfavorable job that makes becoming an adventurer difficult. But thanks to the slimes he has tamed and become friends with, he is able to use a variety of magic and other skills, and more importantly, he gets a second job as a Sage. However, though he has gained extraordinary power, he seems completely unaware of his own strength!

Background

My Isekai Life started as a light novel series written by Shinkoshoto and illustrated by Huuka Kazabana that began serialization online via the user-generated novel-publishing site Shosetsuka ni Naro on October 2017. In May of the following year, it was acquired by SB Creative who began publishing it under their GA Novel imprint. As of November 2021, 10 volumes have been published. To date, the series has surpassed 5 million copies in print.

A manga adaptation illustrated by Ponjea began serialization on Square Enix's online manga magazine Manga UP! in July 2018. As of May 2022, 16 collected tankobon volumes have been published. The series has also been licensed for English release by Square Enix, who will publish the second volume in July 2022.

A TV anime adaptation was announced in January 2021 at the event GA Fes 2021. It is being produced by Revoroot (Babylon, FLCL Alternative, I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level) and features Keisuke Kojima (Kill la Kill, One Punch Man, Psycho-Pass) as director and Kiyotaka Suzuki (Gatchaman Crowds Insight, Infini-T Force, Psycho-Pass 2) as assistant director, with Naohiro Fukushima (Eden of the East, The Laughing Salesman NEW, Santa Company) handling series composition, Norihito Saitama handling character designs along with Keisuke Kojima, and Gin of BUSTED ROSE (Don't Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro, Pop Team Epic, This Art Club Has a Problem!) handling the music. The anime’s opening theme song is “Mujikaku no Tensai” by rock band Non Stop Rabbit, and the ending theme song is "Gohan da yo! Dadadadan!!" by Surachanzu△, a group comprised of the voice actors of the anime’s slime characters. The anime will premiere in Japan on July 4, 2022 on Tokyo MX and AT-X.

Characters

Yuji (Voiced by: Chiaki Kobayashi)
Yuji was summoned to another world while working as an employee at an exploitative company, where he was given the unfortunate job of Tamer. Thanks to his slime friends, he has gained the job class Sage but is unaware of his strength.

Dryad (Voiced by: Azumi Waki)
Dryad is a spirit living in the forest. Though afraid of humans, she was saved by Yuji when she was weak, and since then has been helping him out.

Sura (Voiced by: Hikaru Tohno)
Sura is the first slime that Yuji tames. It has the simplest appearance of the other slimes.

Surapacchi (Voiced by: Mai Kanno)
Surapacchi is a slime that wears glasses and is perceptive of their surroundings.

Mayusura (Voiced by: Haruna Mikawa)
Mayusura is a slime with thick eyebrows who loves to eat.

Saruhappa (Voiced by: Erisa Kuon)
Saruhappa is a slime that wears leaves on its head and blurts out whatever it’s thinking.

Higesura (Voiced by: Nichika Omori)
Higesura is a slime with a large mustache who is calmer than the other slimes.

Pekesura (Voiced by: Miharu Hanai)
Pekesura is a slime with an X mark in its left cheek whose speech is a bit rude.

Proudwolf (Voiced by: Wataru Takagi)
Proudwolf is a legendary wolven beast who is tamed by Yuji. Despite its strong appearance, he is very timid and runs away from battle.
