Synopsis

There are still secrets in this house…
After their "unveiling," Kate, Emilico, and the other three pairs of shadows and living dolls begin their new lives as debutantes. But the mysteries of the Shadow House deepen when a mysterious cloaked figure appears and a new incident occurs in the children’s wing. Who is this mysterious figure, and what other secrets will Kate and Emilico find as they investigate?

Background

Shadows House began as a manga series written and illustrated by the duo Somato that has been serialized in Shueisha's seinen manga magazine Weekly Young Jump since September 2018. A color version is also released simultaneously in My Neighbor’s Young Jump and on the Young Jump! app, and the manga is distributed near-simultaneously in South Korea in the Neverbooks series. Ten tankobon volumes have been published as of June 2022. The manga is also licensed for English release in North America by Yen Press, who published the first volume in June 2022.

The second season of the anime adaptation was announced in September 2021. It is once again being produced by CloverWorks and sees returning staff including Kazuki Ohashi as director, Toshiya Ono as series composer, Chizuko Kusakabe and Shihomi Matsubayashi as character designers, and Kenichiro Suehiro as music composer. The anime’s opening theme song is "Shall We Dance?" by ReoNa, and the ending theme song is “Masquerade” by ClariS. The anime will premiere in Japan on July 8, 2022 on Tokyo MX, BS11, and other channels.
