Synopsis

Saybil, a student at a magic academy, has no memory of his life before transfering to the academy. Not knowing his reason for being there, his school life is somewhat empty, and, not knowing what it means to work hard, his grades are abysmal. Then, the academy’s headmistress, Albus, suddenly assigns him to a dangerous training program. Though it has been several years since the war between witches and the church ended, the world has yet to fully accept witches and magic. But the dawn of wizardry has arrived. This is the story of a clueless boy and his friends who all hide their scars as they search to find themselves.

Characters

Saybil (Voiced by: Shuichiro Umeda)
A student at the Kingdom of Wenias Royal Magic Academy. He has no memory prior to transferring to the academy, and because of that he sees no reason for living other than magic, and he aims to become a wizard. However, he has the lowest grades in his class and he is forced to participate in a special training program to avoid being expelled. He is honest but overly introverted and is unfamiliar with the subtleties of the human heart, including his own.

Loux Krystas (Voiced by: Miho Okasaki)
A witch who has lived for hundreds of years and is known as “Dawn.” She has a contract with the demonic “Luden’s Magic Wand,” which sucks the magic of anyone who touches it, and has given all her magic to it. Through it, she is able to harness powerful magic, but without it she is powerless. Though not a teacher, she takes on the role of one in order to fulfill a certain goal and begins instructing Saybil.

Holt (Voiced by: Sayumi Suzushiro)
A student of the Wenias Royal Magic Academy along with Saybil. She is an honor student who has exceptional grades and is always smiling. Surprisingly, she is the type who has clear likes and dislikes about people. She is friendly to Saybil, though he is unsociable and has bad grades, and is fond of Loux, who has a wealth of knowledge about magic.

Kudоo (Voiced by: Taku Yashiro)
A student of the Wenias Royal Magic Academy and a student in the special training program. He is a Beastfallen who resembles a humanoid lizard man. Although he has a rough and cynical demeanor, he has a strong sense of justice and an upright personality. His body color changes depending on his emotion, making it hard for him to lie.

Mysterious Witch (Voiced by: Yumiri Hanamori)
A mysterious witch who appears in scenes that Saybil can only barely recall. She has a somewhat detached air and seems to know about Saybil’s past.

Mercenary (Voiced by: Masaaki Yano)
A Beastfallen mercenary serving the witch who rules the village where the special training is held. He looks like a huge, ferocious tiger and has an intimidating presence.

Priest (Voiced by: Masaaki Mizunaka)
A priest serving the witch who rules the village where the special training is held. Due to having lost his eyesight, he wears a blindfold over both eyes. Perhaps due to his wariness of witches, many of his words are thorny and he has a somewhat unusual air.

Albus (Voiced by: Yo Taichi)
A witch who serves as the headmistress of the Wenias Royal Magic Academy which Saybil and the others attend. She is the granddaughter of a famous witch and is a talented witch herself who inherited her grandmother’s moniker. The students of the academy have a contract with her and are forbidden from using magic without her permission. In order to encourage the growth of her students, she sometimes gives them dangerous tests.

Holdem (Voiced by: Masayuki Kato)
A wolf Beastfallen who serves Albus. He is a hard worker sandwiched between the selfish Loux and the unreasonably demanding Albus and is often forced into troublesome situations. Due to his careless comments, he can be looked at indifferently by those around him.

Riiri (Voiced by: Manaka Iwami)
A girl who helps out at the church. She has a timid and shy personality and always has her eyes lowered and covers her head with a hood. She seems to trust Priest and is a commendable assistant who helps him with church duties.
