Synopsis

Arvin is an adventurer who sets off on a journey to save the world and its people. One day, while battling magical beasts, a dark elf healer named Karla happens to pass by. But when he asks for her help, she unexpectedly asks him to get down and grovel first! Not only that, but she also curses him, and now he’s got to stick with her or he’ll die! So begins the adventures of a hopeless swordsman and a troublemaking healer!

Background

Don't Hurt Me, My Healer! began as a Japanese fantasy comedy manga series written and illustrated by Tannen ni Hakko that has been serialized digitally on Niconico Seiga and Kadokawa Shoten's ComicWalker website since July 2019. In October 2020, it also began serialization in the magazine Monthly Comic Flapper and as of December 2021, four collected tankobon volumes have been published under the MF Comics imprint.

A TV anime adaptation was announced by Kadokawa in April 2021. It is being produced by animation studio Jumondo and features Nobuaki Nakanishi as director, with Fumihiko Shimo handling series composition and scripts, Chisato Kikunaga handling character designs, and Satoshi Igarashi composing the music. The anime’s opening theme song is "Jellyfish na Kimi e" by Aguri Onishi, and the ending theme song is "HERO in HEALER" by Aguri Onishi, Takuya Sato, and Asuna Tomari. The anime will premiere in Japan on April 10, 2022 on AT-X, Tokyo MX, Kansai TV, and BS11 and will be streamed overseas through Crunchyroll.

Characters

Arvin (Voiced by: Takuya Sato)
The protagonist of the series. Arvin is a 30-year-old knight. He wears full armor and rarely shows his face. While fighting monsters a healer named Karla happens to pass by and mistakenly places a curse on him, and now he’s forced to travel together with her. He is called a veteran rookie by other adventurers.

Karla (Voiced by: Aguri Onishi)
The heroine of the series. She is a 72-year-old dark elf girl and a self-described healer, but in human years she’s between 14 and 15 years old. She’s the type to blurt out whatever she’s thinking and she is often sharp-tongued. She doesn’t much care for having a partner. She is able to use magic to a degree, but she has a stubborn personality.

Mushroom (Ortegaia) (Voiced by: Asuna Tomari)
A mushroom-shaped demon who is close to 100 years old. She is a self-proclaimed lovable mascot. She seems to be edible. She is a fiendish monster who tries dueling humans both young and old, but she also has a sensible and caring side. She begins traveling together with Arvin and Karla after a certain incident.
