Evangelion Official Store
When Evangelion fans are looking to completely immerse themselves in to the Evangelion world and want to surround themselves with Evangelion goods, many visit the official Evangelion stores. These official stores are located all around Japan. The main store is based in Ikebukuro in Tokyo. Other branches include another second store in Shinjuku Tokyo, a smaller shop in Hakone and one of the newer shops is in Hakata, Fukuoka Prefecture. Each store is unique in design and has its own original goods and theme.
Evangelion Store Tokyo-01
The main official Evangelion store in Tokyo is located in Ikebukuro, on the second floor of the
Parco building shopping mall. Previously the store was first opened in Harajuku and moved to Ikebukuro in 2014. Many fans anticipated that the move would be made to Akihabara, but instead the store made a jump to Ikebukuro which is just as famous as Akihabara in regards to the anime culture and community. Nearby in Ikebukuro is the J-World Tokyo, Namco’s anime theme park. Also Pokémon Center Mega Tokyo, the largest pokemon centre in all of Japan.
The store is designed with NERV’s high-tech style design and is full of Evangelion merchandise, clothing, goods and anything that is currently seasonal in the Evangelion world. Even edible food and stationary.
In addition to the goods, there are little Evangelion gimmicks throughout the store. For example, visitors can find a metal statue of Rei Ayanami, which is popular with tourists and their cameras. Also the changing room doors are designed to look like pilot changing rooms with NERV style door labeled ‘Fitting Mode’.

Evangelion Store Shinjuku
The second Evangelion store to open in Tokyo is Evangelion Store Shinjuku in 2019. The store is located in the Shinjuku Marui Annex which is a well-known place for holding anime events and anime collaborations. The premiere of the third movie in the Evangelion Rebuild series ‘Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo’ was held at the Shinjuku Wald 9 movie theater, which is in the same building as the Evangelion Store Shinjuku shop.
The Shinjuku store is also well known for holding Evangelion related events. For example for a summer event, the store sold Evangelion yukata (summer kimono) in collaboration with the designer RumiRock.

Evangelion Store Hakata
The first Evangelion store to open outside of the Kanto region is Evangelion Store Hakata in Fukuoka in 2019. The store is located in the Canal City Hakata shopping mall. This store is unique in which the store stocks a lot of Evangelion merchandise with an original Hakata twist such the Evangelion Angel keyrings turned into the Hakata-famous pollack roe.

Evangelion Store EVA-YA
This official Evangelion store named EVA-YA opened in Hakone in 2012. This location was chosen as Hakone, and Lake Ashi and Owakudani actually appeared in the anime series multiple times. This store is less NERV high-tech styled and designed in a more traditional Japanese-style to fit the surrounding local shop atmosphere.
Visitors to the shop will find Evangelion and Hakone collaboration items such as towels and teacups. The store also has original snacks such as the EVA-01 soft-serve ice cream, which is a matcha and purple sweet potato flavor.

Evangelion World
Evangelion World is not a store, but an Evangelion museum located at the popular theme park Fuji-Q Highland at the foot of Mt Fuji. It is a permanent museum-like exhibition that opened in 2010 with displays, artwork, dioramas and interactive sets and installations that is popular with Evangelion fans from all around the world.
Inside the exhibition visitors will find
- A scale model of Evangelion Unit 01
- Life-size models of Evangelion pilots Kaworu and Mari
- Real-scale model of an Evangelion cockpit
- Artwork of famous scenes from the anime series and movies
- First 3-D life-sized scale model of the heads of Evangelion Unit 01 and Unit 02
- NERV HQ themed area that recreates the Evangelion scenery from the anime series
- Unique production art, sketches and memorabilia displays
In addition to the exhibition, there is an Evangelion World store that sells special Fuji-Q branded merchandise such as model kit sets, t-shirts, and souvenirs.
The Evangelion World museum is the perfect place for Evangelion fans and enthusiasts to immerse themselves into the world of Evangelion. With a large number of real-life size displays and sets, visitors can really picture what it would be like if they were in the anime series.
