Synopsis

Several years have passed since the legendary “Tsunagu Tsunagu” performance by Girls² at the Girls Arena, and once again girls are passionately fighting to reach the top. In order to enter St. Girls Square Academy, many girls attend the Galsta training studios. At one of the studios, the Harajuku Takeshita Street Studio, six girls gather together. Their name is Lucky²! Their goal is to nail the audition to attend St. Girls Square Academy, and their story begins here!

Background

GaruGaku: Saint Girls Square Academy is a TV anime series produced by OLM and Wit Studio, the first season of which was broadcast from April 2020 to March 2021. The series has spawned a manga adaptation written by Kahori Orito that was released just ahead of the anime’s premiere and was serialized in Shogakukan’s Ciao magazine from April 2020 to March 2021. A TV drama adaptation titled GaruGaku: Girls Garden was also created for TX Network and aired from July to September 2021.

Gal-gaku. II: Lucky Stars is the title of the second season of the anime. It is once again being animated by OLM (Inazuma Eleven, Kira Kira Happy Hirake! Cocotama, Restaurant to Another World) and features Makoto Nakata (Hinamatsuri, Magical Girl Ore, This Art Club Has a Problem!) as director, with Takahiko Kyogoku (Gal-gaku. Sei Girls Square Gakuin, Love Live!, Pretty Rhythm Dear My Future) credited as animation supervisor, Jun'ichi Fujisaku (Atom the Beginning, Ghost in the Shell Arise: Alternative Architecture, xxxHOLiC the Movie: A Midsummer Night's Dream) handling the scripts, and Toshihito Hirooka (Gal-gaku. Sei Girls Square Gakuin, Pokémon: Diamond and Pearl, Pokémon: Black and White) handling the character designs. The anime’s opening theme song is “Ichigo -Ichigoichie-” by Lucky². The anime will premiere in Japan on Jan. 10, 2022 on TV Tokyo channels.

Characters

Rina Yamaguchi (Voiced by: Rina Yamaguchi)
Born in Kanagawa Prefecture. She’s a beginner when it comes to dancing and singing and just recently started. She stays positive and doesn't give up no matter what. She loves Youka from Girls².

Yura Sugiura (Voiced by: Yura Sugiura)
Born in Tokyo. She is a calm and refined girl who is kind at her core and is good at taking care of small kids. Her dream is to perform on the Girls Arena stage that Girls² performed on.

Tsubaki Nagayama (Voiced by: Tsubaki Nagayama)
Born in Okinawa Prefecture. She likes drawing and making accessories. She is the youngest member of Lucky² and looks up to Yuwa as if she were her older sister.

Hiiro Fukasawa (Voiced by: Hiiro Fukasawa)
Born in Tochigi Prefecture. She is a lively girl who loves fashion. She is a hard worker who hates to lose. She sees Kanna as her rival.

Yuwa Higa (Voiced by: Yuwa Higa)
Born in Okinawa Prefecture. She is a reliable girl who often brings the other girls together and is a skilled singer. She is called Wa-chan by Tsubaki, who has been with her since she lived in Okinawa.

Kanna Sato (Voiced by: Kanna Sato)
Born in Saitama Prefecture. Her hobbies are shopping and making sweets. She has excellent reflexes and is a skilled dancer. She also has a shy side.

Takeo Morimura (Voiced by: Subaru Kimura)
The owner of the cafe attached to the studio. He can do anything, from cooking to composing music.

Chino Hamura (Voiced by: Riho Sugiyama)
A former professional performer who is a trainer at the Galsta Takeshita Street Studio. She wants to raise shining, sparkling performers with her own hands.
