Kanazawa, Ishikawa is an incredible place to visit with great sights like the Kanazawa Castle and the unforgettable Kenroku-en garden. They’re probably best-known, though, for their gold leaf called Kanazawa-haku! In fact, have you seen pictures of Kinkaku-ji?
The gold leaf used on that temple came from Kanazawa! Gold is such a significant thing for the city that the first kanji in its name means gold, and you can find their Kanazawa-haku on dishes, in lotion, and even in lollipops! There’s something really magical about seeing the gold leaf on sweets in particular, and there are a ton of these we’d love to share with you, so prepare your sweet tooth!
First up on the list is soft-serve ice cream~ Who’d have thought the simplest dessert could be given such a glamorous makeover?!
The mixed colors of the green tea and vanilla ice cream pair really well with the gold~
