Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens, a light novel written by Kisaki Chiaki and published under the Dengeki Bunko label by ASCII Media Works (Kadokawa), is getting an anime adaptation as one of the projects celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Dengeki brand!
The series won the Grand Prize at the 20th Dengeki Novel Prize in 2013 and it currently has six volumes, with vol. 7 coming on July 25. Although the name might have you thinking of a gourmet novel, Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens actually takes place in a ward of Fukuoka that offers all kinds of illegal businesses ranging from torture to murder, taking you deep into the underworld of Hakata.
They also announced the launch of the Dengeki Official App, through which users will be able to get the latest info on Dengeki-related events including the “Dengeki Bunko Aki no Saiten”, publications, and media mix. It also allows for easy access to EC sites and comes with other useful functions such as a release calendar as well as social media games and bonus wallpapers.
The app will be available from July 27 for both Android and iOS free of charge.
Another development worth noting is that starting from July 10, Dengeki brand’s official online store Dengekiya accepts login with Twitter and Facebook accounts, which they are commemorating with a campaign, presenting those who fill the questionnaire with a free shipping coupon.
The staff, cast, and broadcast date are yet to be revealed, so be on the look-out for follow-ups!
