Prepare for your most unusual hanami yet: The Iwashita New Ginger Museum is celebrating the 30th anniversary of new ginger with the event “Iwashita New Ginger Museum Ohanami” until Apr. 9!
Usually, hanami means getting out a picnic blanket and snacks for a leisurely time under some beautiful blossoms, but this museum takes it to a whole new level with this unbelievably adorable alpaca sakura tree!
These furry blossoms are made of Iwashita New Ginger Alpacas, who are —unsurprisingly— among the most popular souvenir goods of the museum. This proud cherry blossom tree will be on display until Apr. 15, greeting incoming visitors with the heart-melting smiles of ginger-pink alpaca plushies, like this cutie here:
Truly, we bow down before the genius who imagined adorable fluffy alpacas as cherry blossoms.
And if you’re still in the mood for unique hanami experiences, look no further than the “World’s Biggest New Ginger Head”! Instead of sakura petals, though, this popular photospot will be covered with projected geometrical patterns and a thousand new ginger roots, which happen to be just as pink! It will also feature “Technopop Shinshoga”, an original song composed by a member of the company as well as “Kakegae no Nai Kimi”, the winning song of the “Iwashita New Ginger Sing & Play Contest” in 2014 as its music.
