Gantz began serialization in Weekly Young Jump in 2000 and was adapted into an anime in 2004. A two-part live-action movie was also made in 2011, and two years later, the curtain was reluctantly closed on the manga, and its long 13-year serialization ended.

This month Gantz: G (author: Hiroya Oku / illustrator: Keita Iizuka) begins serialization in Miracle Jump, and a fully 3DCG animated movie is slated to be released in 2016.
