NisiOisiN Posts New Short Story to Official Site; All Works Archived

Author NisiOisiN opened his official site on Thursday, Oct. 8. At the same time he made available in its entirety the new short story Danpen Shosetsu.

Wording appears in quick succession when the site opens.

The official site has introductions to all of NisiOisiN’s roughly 100 works completed thus far, including Monogatari Series and the Boukyaku Tantei series. The new short story Danpen Shosetsu is a self-remix reconstructed entirely using excerpted text from his past works.

NisiOisiN is a novelist, manga author, and screenwriter whose many popular works include the Zaregoto and Boukyaku Tantei series.

Known for his prolific writing, he has gained popularity for the unique dialogue and wordplay in his works, which are written with astounding speed, his impactful characters, and his naming sense, among other qualities.

*NisiOisiN won Kodansha’s Mephisto Prize in literature for his mystery novel Kubikiri Cycle: Aoiro Savant to Zaregotozukai which depicts a locked room murder on a remote island where geniuses have been gathered.

His standout work, Monogatari Series, which begins with Bakemonogatari, was adapted into an anime directed by Akiyuki Shinbo and produced by animation studio Shaft. With TV drama adaptations for his mystery novel series Boukyaku Tantei and Okitegami Kyouko no Bibousoku as well, NisiOisiN is gaining attention from every direction.

Posted to the site this time were series introductions to Zaregoto, Monogatari, Boukyaku Tantei, Ningen, Saikyo, Sekai, Risuka, Densetsu, Katanagatari, Bishonen, and others, all of his anime and live-action projects to date, a gallery page where you can watch commercials, and more. It’s truly a site packed with everything about NisiOisiN.

In other news, new works Orokamonogatari and Okitegami Kyouko no Bibousoku were both released on Oct. 6, and the broadcast of the TV drama Okitegami Kyouko no Bibousoku starring actress Yui Aragaki began on Oct. 10.
