Dragon Ball Super, a new anime penned by series author Akira Toriyama himself, is picking up attention from all over the world. The new anime is said to be set after the fight against Majin Buu. Peace has returned to the world, and this new Dragon Ball series will depict what happens next.
The TV broadcast will begin at 9:00 a.m. on July 5 on Fuji TV and other networks. Because a new story will be depicted that hasn’t yet been told in the original manga nor in a TV anime or movie, anticipation among fans is rising.
The official site of the anime reopened on June 15, and on it a main visual has been revealed along with staff and cast information. Among the information revealed, likely the most impressive is the main visual. Popular characters from the series are all present, including Goku, Vegeta, and Piccolo. Also worth noticing are the characters Beerus, the God of Destruction, and Whis, both of whom appear in the hit film Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods released in 2013. There is also one more surprise: two new mysterious characters who slightly resemble Beerus and Whis appear in the poster as well. These characters may hold the key to this new film.
From the announced cast, we can see that well-known voice actress Masako Nozawa will be reprising her roles of Goku, Gohan, and Goten. Other names on the cast include Joji Yanami (Narrator), Ryo Horikawa (Vegeta), Hiromi Tsuru (Bulma), Takeshi Kusao (Trunks), Toshio Furukawa (Piccolo), Masaharu Sato (Master Roshi), Mayumi Tanaka (Krillin), Naoko Watanabe (Chichi), Yuko Minaguchi (Videl), Unsho Ishizuka (Mister Satan), and Kozo Shioya (Majin Buu). It seems these characters will have active roles in the upcoming series.
On the staff are series director Kimitoshi Chioka and character designer Tadayoshi Yamamuro. The opening theme song is “Chozetsu Dynamic!” by Kazuya Yoshii, and the ending theme is “Hello Hello Hello” by Good Morning America.
