The first promotional video has been released for the TV anime Ushio and Tora which will begin broadcasting on Tokyo MX and other networks in Japan on July 3. The PV is dedicated to the opening scene of the story in which main character Ushio Aotsuki pulls out of Tora the Beast Spear he is pinned down by.
A portion of the anime was screened at the event Sunday Fes 2015 on March 29, but this time a full-blown PV was released. The video shows the events that transpired that brought Ushio and Tora into a partnership with one another. The intense portrayal of the scene in which Ushio pulls out the Beast Spear stuck in Tora is stirring up anticipation from long-time fans of the series. The impact of the hordes of yokai running rampant is also extraordinary, and the heroines Asako Nakamura and Mayuki Inoue can also be seen in the video. Also included in the video are the opening theme “Mazeruna Kiken” by Kinniku Shoujo Tai and ending theme “Hero” by Sonar Pocket, both of which have an impressive sound.
A special program will be streamed on Niconico Live on the first day of the broadcast, July 3, at 10:00 p.m. Performing in the program will be the full cast lineup of main characters: Tasuku Hatanaka (Ushio), Rikiya Koyama (Tora), Mikako Komatsu (Asako Nakamura), and Kiyono Yasuno (Mayuko Inoue).
