On Friday, Sept. 18, the Sailor Moon musical Nakayoshi 60th Anniversary Performance: Sailor Moon - Un Nouveau Voyage will open at the AiiA 2.5 Theater Tokyo.
The Sailor Moon musical has been adored by fans for many years. In 2012, a new musical was created as part of the Sailor Moon 20th Anniversary Project, and the performance also went overseas.
This latest work will open in September of this year. On Friday, Sept. 18, the Sailor Moon musical Nakayoshi 60th Anniversary Performance: Sailor Moon - Un Nouveau Voyage will open at the AiiA 2.5 Theater Tokyo. It will be an adaptation of the 3rd Death Busters Volume.
The beloved Sailor Soldiers,Tuxedo Mask, and Sailor Chibi Moon will appear on stage. A highlight will be the fan favorites Sailor Uranus, Sailor Neptune, Sailor Pluto and Sailor Saturn. The Death Buster antagonists will also appear, and the cast will make for a splendid performance.
Two popular characters will be played by former Takarazuka Revue members, including Shu Shiotsuki as Sailor Uranus, and Sayaka Fujioka as Sailor Neptune. In addition, other former Takarazuka Revue members appearing in this performance are Yuki Kaon, Kei Ougi and Yuga Yamato in the role of Tuxedo Mask, which brings the total to five. Sailor Pluto will be played by Mikako Ishii, returning from her performance in 2014’s Petite Etrangere, and Sailor Saturn will be played Karin Takahashi.
Furthermore, this will be a graduating performance for five cast members portraying Sailor Soldiers. This will be the last chance to see Satomi Okubo, Momoyo Koyama, Kanon Nanaki, Yu Takahashi, and Shiori Sakata. Yet no matter how the production goes, there will be no end to the discussions.
