TMS 50 Years of Anime Exhibition Heads for Yokohama, Bringing Photographable Life-Size Yowamushi Pedal Character Cutouts

Producing popular anime titles from Big X to Lupin III, Detective Conan and Yowamushi Pedal, anime production studio TMS Entertainment reaches their 50th year of producing anime in 2014 and prepares to hold the event “TMS Entertainment, Our 50-Year Journey with Anime Exhibition.” Starting Dec. 11, the exhibition will open its doors at Yokohama Broadcasting Library under the title “Anime Titles Embellishing the Showa and Heisei Eras - Big X, Lupin III, and Yowamushi Pedal.”

The “TMS Entertainment, Our 50-Year Journey with Anime Exhibition” began in April 2014 at the Suginami Animation Museum, and has also been held at other locations such as the Kawasaki City Museum.

Displays at the exhibition range from production panels and animations cels that reach a striking 8 meters in total length, to valuable production documents and video content of theme song medleys and production chronicles. Also on display are hand-illustrated autograph boards by original authors and creators, drawn specially to commemorate the company’s 50th anniversary of anime production.

New displays that will make their appearance at the launch of the exhibition in Yokohama include a “Detective Conan Coloring Book Corner,” in anticipation of the manga’s upcoming 20th year serialization anniversary, as well as an area where visitors will be able to take photographs with life-size cutouts of the 12 main characters from the new series Yowamushi Pedal: Grande Road.

In the Film Hall will be anime screenings designed to appeal to both parents and children, including ‘60s anime titles such as Big X, The Adventures of Gamba, Dokonjo Gaeru, and 15 titles from the 21st century, including the popular Sonic X.
