Godzilla 60th Anniversary Portal Site Opens

The special effects movie series Godzilla will be turning 60 in 2014. With the forthcoming release of a new Hollywood Godzilla movie as well as a digital remaster of the original planned to screen in theaters, the world will be swept up in a Godzilla whirlwind once again. On Dec. 19, a teaser of the portal site celebrating the 60th anniversary of Godzilla opened. From here on, the site will be updated with information fans won’t want to miss.

On the site, Godzilla can be seen surfacing from the ocean and advancing on the city. Furthermore, pressing the “C,” “M,” and “K” keys will result in secrets that will make fans giddy. Particulars on the content being planned are also being revealed. On Jan. 27, introductions to the series’ 28 works as well as information on the Blu-ray/DVD and events will be released. Other interesting content including a special interview with those working on a serialization project is also being prepared. Get ready for the anniversary year by enjoying the portal site.

Various projects related to Godzilla will be carried out in 2014. This includes the new Hollywood version of Godzilla, which will begin screening in theaters in Japan on July 25. Fans will be able to enjoy seeing Godzilla on the big screen for the first time in 10 years, with the last being 2004’s Godzilla: Final Wars. Ahead of this release, all prior films in the Godzilla series will begin being screened in March at the Jimbōchō Theater in Tokyo. This will be a great chance for fans to see the 35-millimeter film versions of all 28 of the Godzilla movies. Beginning in June, a digitally remastered version of the 1954 original movie Godzilla will also begin being screened. This digital remaster of the original is likely to pick up attention. It is planned to screen in roughly 80 theaters throughout Japan, meaning that fans will be able to appreciate it no matter where in Japan they live.
