The newest Gintama movie, titled Gintama: The Movie: The Final Chapter: Be Forever Yorozuya, will be released in Japan on July 6.
Advance tickets for the movie are now on sale, and those who purchase one will receive a limited clear file folder as part of the first round of sales. The second round is already planned to begin, and judging from how quickly the favors sold out for the previous movie Gintama: A New Retelling Benizakura Arc, if you want one of these, you should get your hands on one soon.
Gintama began as a slapstick gag manga created by Hideaki Sorachi. To date, the total number of copies printed for the series has exceeded 44 million. It’s popularity is credited to its good tempo, witty dialogue, and moving relationships between its characters. The TV anime and previous movie have also been big hits.
Gintama: The Movie: The Final Chapter: Be Forever Yorozuya features an entirely new story written by Sorachi to be the conclusion for the anime to Gintama. We wonder, along with many fans, if this will really be the end of Gintama.
In any case, we’ll find out when the movie releases this July.
