“Naruto: Ultimate Ninja” Series Surpasses 10 Million Total Shipped Units

On Feb. 4, 2013, NAMCO BANDAI games announced that the Naruto: Ultimate Ninja game series has surpassed 10 million total shipped units.

The manga for Naruto began serialization in 1999 in Weekly Shonen Jump. Now, the latest anime series for this popular manga, titled Naruto: Shippuden, is currently broadcasting on TV Tokyo. The Naruto series has a worldwide fanbase that covers an extensive age range, from children to adults.

The Naruto: Ultimate Ninja series is popular with fans due to its gorgeous graphics and faithful representation of the original work. The breakdown of the 10 million shipped units for the series is as follows: 2.58 million in Japan, 4 million in North America, and 3.42 million in Europe. As can be seen, its influence is worldwide.

Regarding this achievement, the original author of Naruto, Masashi Kishimoto, had this delightful comment: “The Naruto: Ultimate Ninja series surpassed 10 million units shipped!! Congratulations!! In commemoration of this achievement, worldwide events are being planned in Japan, North America, and Europe. Furthermore, the latest PS3 and Xbox 360 game in the series, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3, is planned to released in Japan on April 18, 2013. The Naruto craze shows no signs of stopping!
