Certification Exams Themed After “Naruto” to Be Held in December

This winter, there will be certification exams held themed after Masashi Kishimoto’s popular manga Naruto. The “1st Naruto Certification” will be held in Tokyo and Osaka on Dec. 13. Naruto fans won’t want to miss it.

The commemoration-worthy first exam will be on questions related to main character Naruto’s early years. It will cover volumes 1–27 of the tankobon volumes and episodes 1–135 of the anime. The exam will be 100 multiple-choice questions which will span topics including famous scenes, famous dialogue, the Jutsus, and profiles on each character. It seems it will offer an enjoyable look back at the story of Naruto. Questions pertaining to original stories in the anime will not be included.

Two levels of the exam are being prepared: Junior Ninja and Journeyman Ninja. The Junior Ninja exam is for those who have a general understanding of the characters’ traits and a broad sense of the story, whereas the Journeyman Ninja exam is for the more hardcore Naruto fans who have enough knowledge that they can blurt out throughout the day the names of the Jutsu. Those who pass the exam will be presented with a certificate along with an exclusively drawn illustration. If you’re going to take it, make sure to study hard so you pass. All who take the exam, even if they fail, will receive an original exam bonus item.

The exam date is Sunday, Dec. 13 in Tokyo and Osaka. Sign ups are currently underway on the official site. From mid-September, sign ups will also be held at kiosks set up in major bookstores and Jump Shops throughout Japan. The deadline to sign up is Nov. 6. Fees are 4,500 yen for the Junior Ninja exam, 5,600 for the Journeyman Ninja exam, and 9,000 yen for both (all prices include tax).
