The exhibit “Serialization Conclusion Commemoration: Masashi Kishimoto Naruto Exhibition” began in Roppongi, Tokyo on April 25. Original exhibits have been prepared at the venue and they’ve come up with various ideas to entertain Naruto fans.
So that you can relive the course of the story over the last 15 years, famous scenes from all the way back in chapter 1 right up to chapter 700 have been staged in various ways inside the venue. There are also original movie screenings and pieces of original artwork as well as life-size figures of the principal characters.
To put popular episodes in the spotlight, the exhibited items will vary throughout the duration of the exhibition. Also, artwork from the latest Naruto story - the mini series Naruto Gaiden: The Seventh Hokage and the Scarlet Spring Month which begins in the Weekly Shonen Jump double issue 22-23 releasing on April 27, will be exhibited and changed on a weekly rolling basis.
In the second half of the exhibition, artwork of the “next generation” - Naruto’s son, Boruto, and friends will be displayed under the title of “Uketsugareru Shinobido” (The Way of the Ninja Will be Passed Down). There is also a recreation of the library desk from Masashi Kishimoto’s hometown, Nagi in Okayama Prefecture, where the original author came up with the ideas for the Naruto story. With artwork created specially for the exhibition and settings from the new movie, Boruto: Naruto The Movie, which is expected to be released this summer, the exhibition hall is jam packed with items you can only see here.
With the event just having kicked off, Rina Ikoma from idol group Nogizaka46 attended the press preview on April 23 to experience the exhibition in advance. A big Naruto fan, Rina offered the following comment: “I cried so much!” To those planning to attend the exhibition, she advised, “Bring a thick handkerchief!”
